Has anyone here heard anything regarding the following?

Types of constructable/destructable/retractable bridges that will be included in AOM?

Snares?

Salvaging/scavenging fractional resources from deconstructing structures of yours or your enemies?

Hauling carcasses? - You could even steal carcasses through this manner. The enemy villagers load up on meat, haul it back to the Town Center, and return only to find the carcass gone. That is, obviously, unless they took the route of hauling the carcass to their own Town Center.

Decreasing enemy favor through raids that damage/destroy his Wonder?

Guardian statues that have the ability to animate and attack?

"Real World" or "Columbus" maps that have no edge?

Wonders serving as favor mines?

Booting villagers out the door to start their own allied civilization?

Flying Purple Hippos?

Hello Newbie!

Quote:

Nope, I don't think this will be a feature...maybe in scen editor bridge like AoK but not constructable.

Quote:

Snares?

Not sure what you mean by snares

Quote:

Salvaging/scavenging fractional resources from deconstructing structures of yours or your enemies?

Nope, I didn't hear anything about this and don't think this will happen either.

Quote:

Hauling carcasses?

heh, don't think so...would be great.

Quote:

No, considering each culture collects favor differently...I don't think damaging/destroying wonders will effect favor. You can destroy egyptian monuments that will effect his favor. Destroy greek temples to stop a player's villagers from praying there. Norse...well...destroy his military buildings.

Quote:

Guardian statues that have the ability to animate and attack?

No idea

Quote:

Real World" or "Columbus" maps that have no edge?

I believe no on this.

Quote:

Wonders serving as favor mines?

Nope, in fact I really haven't heard much on wonders but I don't think you are able to use them as favor mines considering the ways each culture collects favor in a unique fashion for balance.

Quote:

Booting villagers out the door to start their own allied civilization?

lol, no.

Hello Newbie, welcome to the forums .

Quote:

Snares?

(as traps) We haven't heard anything. I guess they won't be in the game.

Quote:

Salvaging/scavenging fractional resources from deconstructing structures of yours or your enemies?

No. That feature was in AoK's early version, and it was canceled back then.

Quote:

Hauling carcasses? - You could even steal carcasses through this manner. The enemy villagers load up on meat, haul it back to the Town Center, and return only to find the carcass gone. That is, obviously, unless they took the route of hauling the carcass to their own Town Center.

LOL, it reminds me some horror movies.

Quote:

Decreasing enemy favor through raids that damage/destroy his Wonder?

We haven't heard of any way of decreasing enemy's favour. I doubt there will be one.

Quote:

Guardian statues that have the ability to animate and attack?

Sounds really cool, but we haven't heard of it.

Quote:

"Real World" or "Columbus" maps that have no edge?

I don't think so.

Quote:

Wonders serving as favor mines?

I have no clue (no info about wonders yet). Maybe the Egyptians wonders will give you favour.

Quote:

Booting villagers out the door to start their own allied civilization?

No. way.

Guardian statues that have the ability to animate and attack?

I think I heard somewhere that this was someone's GP. Not sure why, but for some reason I am thinking it's Hades'.

yes, there is a GP that will create statues around your TC that will attack enemy's near it.
cant remember who's though

It's like watching a flock of clown-like apes trying to navigate a ship, even though the ship has in fact been stranded on some kind of reef for about 7 years and none of the apes have noticed it yet. -Drahnier on OD moderation.

The GP you are thinking about is Sentinals... It is Hades's GP and it involves 4 statues surrounding a TC or settlement to defend it...

It is a god power for the egyptians (dont know which god), which turns all that civilization's monuments into Guardian statues. of course they turn back into Monuments after a set time, and when they are guardian statues you cant gather favor...

WhoAskedU: Can you tell us where you gathered this information?

In AoM, there are techniclly no "wonders"... no one structure you can build that can win the game. the closest things are Egyptian Monuments which accumulate favor at a set rate over time. Sorta like relics did in AoK (or holocrons for swgb )

Quote:

Wonders serving as favor mines?

Not really, like I said the closest things are Egyptian monuments, and they don't work like mines.

Snares? Dunno, but probably not... It could get pretty complex, and it just doesn't seem right in a RTS.

Salvaging/scavenging fractional resources from deconstructing structures? I doubt it... The only thing that you could scavenge in real life would be stone, which isn't in AoM. Maybe you can take some wood, but not likely.

Hauling carcases? No idea, I'd guess no.

Decreasing enemy favor through raids that damage/destroy his wonder? Doubt it, except for Egyptian monuments.

Guardian statues? Yes, its some god power... I forgot which one.

Maps with no edge? No.

Wonders serving as favor mines? Dunnno

Starting allied civilization? Doubt it.

Flying purple hippos? *doesn't tell*

Remember a while ago where Archangel was updating the ES site at 3am in the morning? He mistakenly stated that a bonus for Thor was getting gold by attacking buildings(kind of like the War3 pillage). So it is possible that was a bonus for some other race.

Bridges- maybe, but probably just in the scenario editor.
Snares- no.
Scavaging- no.
Hualing carcases- only if it was automatic.
Decreasing favour- no.
Animating statues- maybe a god power.
Maps- you mean they wrap?
Favour mines- the eggys construct monuments to gain favour.
Booting vills- no.
FPHs- YES!

About the guardian statue thing;

"Sentinels
Hades

When used on one of the player's Town Centers or one of his ally's, Sentinels creates several statues that attack any enemies that stray within range."

Thanks for the kind words Arshnu_Returns. Thanks for the responses everybody. I am pumped to see that there is an Egyptian "sentinel" guardian structure in particular.

Setinels in Hades' GP. And I know that it creats statues around yours or an allied TC. I don't think they come to life though. I read somewhere that they shoot lasers or arrows or something.

Yes... it is indeed the fabled "newbie" ... the one with crackpot, weird, bizarre, and wildly popular ideas.

bridges - that'd be great
snares - what kind of snares?
deconstructing - too much micro.
carcass - big battle will cause lag; carcasses will still count as "units" then.
wonder - we dont'know anything about wonders yet.
guardian - GP.
no edge map - don't think so.
allied civ - no.
FPH - YES! YES! YESSSS~!!!!!
