I've been thinking and you know how each civ has only one boat but when you add units to them they get customized. Well there goes the trade boats. You can't put a trade cart on aship and start trading, can you? That's not not what happened. Merchants with lavish clothing sailed across the sea carrying baskets and barrels of goods. Now I don't know about you, but I'm not going to spend money on these useless dudes so that I can trade with my ally who lives on another island! Would you?
yeah who would want that, unless they make trading more worthwhile.

Yeah Cortez is right. If it where more valuable to the player to trade and more worthwhile, I would go through the bother of doing the trade cart on boat thing

they are valuable! when there is no more gold to mined, they produce gold through trading!
I think they will keep trade ships and fishing ships. If not how on earth are you going to fish and trade?

You don't have to bring your trade cart on off the boat eack time! A boat with a trade cart on it become a trade ship like the trade cogs in AoK!

Yes, but in real life, they didn't put a cart with a donkey in front on a boat and trade. They put a few wrokers, and some merchants. I think it would be just weird to sail across the 3D ocean with a donkey and a cart redy to trade on your ship.
it would be good to make trading somthing that is needed. like say to upgrade your units you needed a valuable say a gem. but alass you don't have any gems so you have to open a trade route. a trade route knida like in Call to power where there resourses on the land. well maybe if they took this idea and fixed it up a bit.
