I was playing Hades, and my ally was Zeus. We were facing an Egyptian and a Norse.
The Norse player hit second age around 5:40. My ally and I got there around 6:30. I started building toxotes as soon as possible. and once I got my economy going, I started walling off my flanks against raids. We were expecting to get rushed. Instead, the Egyptian walled in both of them, and they left us alone for about 12 minutes or so. They hit my ally first, but he repelled them without my assistance. They then stared to build a double (in some areas triple) wall. We then started salivating in anticipation of the kill (we both chose the god that gets underworld passage).
Since we had time to play with, we went to Mythic Age and researched as many upgrades as we could. When my ally cast his underworld passage god power (using a pegasus as a forward air controller), I had 2 catapults, 2 manticores, a cyclops, about 8 hoplites and maybe 15 toxotes. We queued our buildings to send new units to the underworld entrance and did the "airborne" landing in the middle of their lumberjacks.
This is where it got interesting. They used a god power to encase our expeditionary forces in ice. Both their armies then converged on our helpless troops. My ally did some quick thinking and cast his cease fire god power to save our bacon. I used my earthquake to destroy a midgol fortress, one tower, a few houses, and a couple of other miscellaneous buildings. When our units unfroze, we wreaked as much havoc as we could. Our initial assault force eventually died, but our underworld entrance was never destroyed.
Meanwhile, they must have decided that the best defense is a good offense, so they tried attacking my ally again. He beat them back, while I continued to queue units into their rear via the underworld.
We eventually wiped out the Norse town, and my ally built TCs on top of their settlements. I used my Sentinal god power on one of them to provide a secure forward base. I then used my underworld passage just outside the Egyptian's wall (I could have cast it inside his wall with my pegasus, but I was just being dense). Once we busted through, he tried repelling us with massed mercenaries, but we just had too much of a numerical advantage by then. The rest was just mopping up.
