You know how Hades get Shaeds as a bonus? What if a certain civilization was weakened with a penalty of their own dead coming back and fighting against them 10% of the time? The Shades would not be under enemy control, they would be berserkers that would just attack you. They would randomly jump your villagers etc. I guess they would be just disgruntled about the way they were treated by you when they were alive.
I know it's a silly idea, except I just thought about it quick and felt like throwing it onto the forum so don't be too rough. LOL

that would make me want to stop playing the game.

gaia shades, you say. do they pop up randomly on the map or on your own base or at the place they are killed?
also, whoever would get this would have to have a big bonus to make up for this...
It's like watching a flock of clown-like apes trying to navigate a ship, even though the ship has in fact been stranded on some kind of reef for about 7 years and none of the apes have noticed it yet. -Drahnier on OD moderation.

It could certainly be balanced, execpt it would encourage avoiding the fight, especially in a multi-player game. That's the biggest drawback I can think of.
