Well, I have a raw sketch for an expansion pack for the Chinese:
1. GodsAncestor Worship:
- Major god = Fu Xi, the first emperor
- Minor gods = Nu Wa, Huang Di, Shen Nong, Yao, Shun ...Taoism/Daoism:
- Major god = Yu Huang, the Jade emperor
- Minor gods = Xi Wang Mu, Guan Di, Zao Jun, Yuan Shi, Ling Pao, Tao De ...Buddhism:
- Major god = Buddha
- Minor gods = Sun Wu Kong, Bodhidharma, Guan Yin, Pu Hsien, Wen Shu, Di Cang2. MUsSince there aren't that much named Chinese monsters, you could implement the Chinese Zodiac animals here:
1. Rat = weak siege I
2. Ox = headbutts II
3. Tiger = powerfull IV
4. Rabbit = eats crops I
5. Dragon = flying power IV
6. Snake = strangling/poisoning III
7. Horse = fast scout I
8. Goat = gore attack I
9. Monkey = ranged attack II
10. Rooster = defensive, I
11. Dog = fast III
12. Pig = smashing I
And to make all 3 gods have different MUs, you could give all ages different elements for each culture.
* wood = economic
* earth = HP
* metal = armor
* fire = attack
* water = naval/splash
Every god could have 2 weak mythic age MUs that have element wood. Their stats could increases by the ages. The Classical/Heroic/Mythic age could have the element earth/metal/fire/water. Eg.:
* Ancestor: II = metal, III = fire, IV = earth
* Daoism: II = fire, III = earth, IV = metal
* Buddhism: II = earth, III = metal, IV = fire
Water MUs are heroic/mythic naval MUs or MUs with water-splash attack of which you also get a land mu like water dragon and fire dragon. Some archaic age Wood MUs would have an ability to upgrade them to another element.
Each element is strong against a certain element, weak against another, good in combination with the others and neutral against itself.
* Wood: counters earth, countered by metal
* Fire: counters metal, countered by water
* Earth: counters water, countered by wood
* Metal: counters wood, countered by fire
* Water: counters fire, countered by earth
3. GPsNo suggestions. Maybe only this one, Nidhogg-like monster summoning: Ssu Ling = summons a Chinese turtle (Gua Xian), phoenix (Feng Huang), unicorn (Chi Lin) or dragon (Long).
4. FavorBy holding festivals. Construct a Festival Square, deliver food and recruit Dragon Retinues. Then set up waypoints and the Dragon Retinue will pass all, gathering favor. If the food runs out, no favor can be collected. Some of your archaic age Wood MUs can solve the need for food because they siummon animals every 2 minutes (goat -> sheep, rooster -> chickens, rabbit -> rabbits, pig -> pigs).5. Feng ShuiThis could work like the empower of pharaohs, but you wouldn't need a unit, only placement: ES could give all buildings and terrain objects an element. If the element of the building is in harmony with the terrain object (like with MUs that are good to use in combination) the building gets a production/research/training boost and a house one more pop slot. If the element of the building is countered with the element of the terrain object, there could be an worsened production/research/training boost and one pop slot less. If the element of the building counters the element of the terain object, the terrain object is smashed down in one chop (tree) or gathered mined faster. Also buildings could have an effect on each other. Now for the nature element:
* wood = trees
* earth = open terrain & cliffs
* metal = gold
* fire = sand & torches (build by yourself)
* water = beach & sea shore
Note:
1) if a resource ran out, the element could stay in the ground
2) the radius could be minimal, so you don't have too much placing problems
Wow, this became a long post. Never thought it'd be. Please ES, tell me what you think about it. Am I hired or not?
My lover's charms are in a box beneath my bed. And piece by piece I'll cherish them until the end. Send me an angel to love, I need to feel a little piece of heaven. Send me an angel to love, I'm afraid I'll never get to heaven.
