Nope. No trample damage. They do extra damage against buildings, but only against the one they are targeting. Otherwise they are pretty much slow, beefy cavalry.

Elephants still has like double the attack most other egyptian units and like 5 times as many HP. Just because they don't do trample damage doesn't mean they aren't good. They are really hard to counter because AoM doen't have cheap counter units like AoK's pikeman.

Its very hard to cost effectively counter a horde of war elephants. The best way is to use myth units.

musk ox if you want to be picky (something of that sort) for some reason i don't think its a water buffalo. Though to quote larry the cucumber "everybody has a waterbuffalo" :-)

The icon makes it appear to be a Musk Ox, though they live a little far north to really serve as beasts of burden (but then again, polar bears live a little farther north than the Vikings as well...).
