This implies AoM will be published by Microsoft, doesn't it?

No. Microsoft owns the Copyright to Age of Empires (the name), so the fact alone that RTS3 is called Age of Mythology and not AoE3 could imply the publisher will be different. Having said that, it isn't really a follow-up of the series so the name change could just be coincidential.
As someone said in another posting, ES were a small company back when they released their fist game, AoE3 and being sponsored (read : published) by Microsoft held a lot of advantages for them (notably as far as marketting, publicity and stuff goes). With four excellent and best selling games in their name, ES is sure to have the money and the reputation to be able to get published by whoever they want. Staying with Microsoft is bad for them finanically, imho.

Staying with MS is not necessarily bad, Chris. What if MS agreed to the concessions that ES wants? As far as I know, Microsoft is still in the running to be the AOM publisher. In any event, ES will choose whichever publisher gives them the best deal. They are in a great position
Well, but the Age of Mythology logo just looks like to one from Age of Empires. This is why I was wondering...

The copyright is just a footer that is included into the bottom of every page, and rightfully so, because even on the AoM pages, there are links to Age of Empires related pages.

I can bet that MS is going to release AOM.
