I'm going to jump right into the details and assume you know what AOM is all about.
1. Graphics - Are superb; while there are a few minor issues with some people including myself (wierd flashing curser) I really enjoy these graphics. The effects from certain things such as when mythical units use their abilities or when you use your god powers is great. Honestly this reminds me of diablo 2 graphics but in a real time strategy game.
4.5/5
2. Sound - the sound effects and musical scores that accompany your game play really adds to the atmosphere. The differnt sounds of all the units really add to the life like characteristics of the game also. While this is a strategy game and so sound or musical scores may not be the highest priority I think the ES team did a good job in putting things together in the sound department
4/5
3. Gameplay - Seems to be going very well so far; all the civilizations are differnt and offer a unique variety of options. While some of the civilizations may have an underlying theme; ie norse being more aggresive, it doesnt mean you cant rush with the greeks or the egyptians.
4.5/5
4. Balance - I cant help to mention balance in a real time strategy game. It seems to be the most talked about part of the game; which civilization and strategy is the 'best'.
While none of us have had enough online game experience to determine this; there already appears to be some indication that some civilizations will be played alot for certain reasons; now weather these reasons will make they game imbalanced is yet to be determined.
4/5
Overall I think the ES team made a great game and I cant wait to play it online.
