I needed to send some villagers to build a settlement and saw there there were wolves in the path so I put a few soldiers on guard duty to the villager. They followed the villager but did not engage the wolves that slaughtered the villagers.

I would have thought that the Guard feature would also work against GIA units. I feel this is a bug that must have been over looked.

i dont know if the AI can see the difference between a hostile animal and a normal one.

otherwise they would kill all deer/walrus's/zebras/sheep whatever on their path...
