i think when a unit goes up a hill they shouldn't be able to see over it. Then when on top of a hill your los should be increased.

Hey, no offense, but your first sentence doesn't make any sense!:-)
Please explain why you wouldn't be able to see over a hill while you are actually on top of it? Or does he mean when the unit isn't on top and getting to the top it shouldn't be able to see on the other side??

I think he meant if you are going up top, the hill should obstruct the LOS while climbing...and while on top of the hill the LOS of the unit(s) should be increased. Its kinda of like that "You shouldn't be able to see over a wall unless you are on top of it" deal.

no. LOS is not a game factor. Units have the same los no matter the elvation, weather, direction or time of day.

quote from ES DeathShrimp
Quote:
They may have been talking about terrain effects on unit LOS. In some 3D games, a unit cannot see an enemy if that enemy is behind a hill. While that feature might work for some games, we don't think it improve AOM. Since you can't actually see what your units are seeing, it is sometimes hard to figure out whether they should be able to see certain units or not. The result is usually that units flash in and out of the screen, which can be disconcerting. There is enough to worry about with AOM combat without adding this complication.
We have not changed the fundamental way that black map and fog of war works for AOM.
