Since the various god powers are not the the end-all-uber powerful type, being able to use them more than once would seem to provide more strategy. give them long cooldown for balance.
what do you guys think?

No, it would take away the "special feel" away - so use it at the right time.

I would have to say no, but an option to allow recharging and multiple uses could be fun I suppose.

I say YES, but at a price...a very high price. In other words, in order to reuse you must pay a very high gold, wood, and food price.

No, the games and god powers are made to be one shot deals. The game works the way it is. If you could recharge them even at a high price it would feel like a battle of mages casting spells instead of what it is. It is a game about units fighting units on a massive scale.

You have to understand that during MOST of the game's playtest and balancing, we DID have god powers be multi-use. You just spent Favor and used the god power. The designers must have tried a dozen different ways in hundreds of playtests to make it work out and be balanced.

It was only in the last months of the game's creation that god powers became one-use. At first there was opposition even at ES. Hell I'll admit that I was one of the people who opposed god powers going one-use. I was wrong.

The one-use free god powers were so vastly superior to any previous system that we stuck with it.

Why are one-use god powers better?

1) we actually saw MORE god powers being used, not fewer. Now that they were free and didn't cost precious Favor or heroes, you didn't have to make the choice between a god power and a useful myth unit.

2) god powers became more powerful. When Meteor Storm (for instance) was reusable, it kept getting weaker and weaker every playtest, because it was potentially so abusable. But when you only get one (1) Meteor Storm, then it can be made very impressive.

3) using god powers made MORE strategy, not less. Now you had to think for just the right instant, and use your brain.

There were other reasons too but these were the biggies in my mind. Sure you can surmise that it could have worked some other way, but we tried. For over a year of intensive testing we tried. One-use powers are just plain better.

Well I suggest that strong powers should be used only once but weeker powers like Athenas healing should be used more or its duration should be biger.

People can still disagree of course, but it'll only be in theory, and we'll have to trust the playtesters. But I agree with No.

As long as the god power is balanced, it's fine to be just one-time.

I like point #2 I can't stand if the meteor is graphically awesome but only does TINY BIT laughable damage.

Might not be a bad idea for Deathmatch to have the GP's recharge for free after some set time. Deathmatch's are slaughters anyhow.

Perhaps an optional setting
