I'm with you. The pop limit is fine, but the units take up too much space.

I have no problem with the pop limit at the level that it is, for with Aok's pop limit i just flooded the enemy with champs, and that was how i won most of my games. In Aom, you can never get enough units to do that, so i am forced to actually use more strategy.
If you want battles i suggest Medieval:Total War. Thousands and thousands of units in a battle. Huge battlefields, and all the realism of fatigue, moral, weather, and terrain.

I agree with the limit being too low. Maybe build 15 houses or so. I think the pop numbers are ok. Its just with each unit costing 2-5 slots, I can rach my limit in less than 10 minutes.

thats impossible, even if you had all 2 pop space users like hoplites/spearmen etc you would be pass the max pop limit of 300

he means, his cavalry took up 164 pop (that's the only way it could work). Anyways, there's a lot of discussion about the pop. What I find is that I can max quite easily, but then going beyond 115 is hard. And it should be. Putting up a TC for 300 gold is hard if you're fighting a lot. That means you can't just jump to heroic and outpop your opponent. Thereby giving the advantage to the more agressive player. The agressive player can also put off on the attack to get some res and then a TC, while the defender is stuck having to fight it out when the attacker decides it's a good time. It's all good. Though, yeah, it'd be fun having a higher pop with the same principle, but in that case, comps would have to be better. So, for the moment, I think they struck a good balance.

what I was saying wasn't if players have better comps we should raise the pop, since that would unbalance it. However, in a new game or in the expansion, I think it might be an idea to allow more houses or something like that. For now though, I think you'll just have to live with it...

I'm also with Drakwin. So far I don't think I've ever seen a game where you can see to colossal armis engage combat. If units all took up 1 slot, it'd be good, but with such a low limit and many pop slots taken up by the same unit, it could get rather boring. As for altering the limit, I so wish it could be done, but I'm not sure.

what your sayin about how they should change the pop limit in the expansion to make it larger...
dont you think it would be funny if esemble studios did that..... thats like saying they know there wrong, so we gotta change the game after we started selling it.
