I think its their heros. They don't have ranged heroes. A throwing axeman hero would be cool.

I would say the fact that basically all their units are infantry. So you can already make a pretty good guess which counter-units to produce early on. If you then deny the norse player food to produce his cavalry as a counter to your archers, he can be in a pretty rough place.

Why does everyone believe that Norse buildings are weaker? When I checked the HPs and armor of Egyptian buildings and Greek buildings to norse, I noticd they were all the same. So could someone please help me understand what makes the Norse buildings so much "weaker" than the other races.

I think that the norse are weakest against a greek player going archer/hippokan. They are just almost impossible to beat in the classical age if the greeks do it right.

I've found theyre weak against the counter cavalry for the races, because the spreamen etc have high piercs damage, and the norse have practiaccly nothing thats piercing. So if you put in a few units to counter TA and mass anti cav, its pretty hard to stop.

Jarls do a great job against both archers and cavalry but unfortunately Norse have to survive til Heroic to get them.

ulfies are very weak...say about 5 toxotes vs 10 ulfies...i bet toxotes would win:-)
