I know that Greek and Roman mythology are almost the same thing, but the Greek and Roman armies were different. I have always wanted to control a group of 3d Roman legions. I'm just wondering if it would be possible.

I doubt ES would do it because they are very similar to the Greeks. The game mostly revolves around the gods you choose and what they give to you; not the human soldiers.

Just pump out Hypaspists and pretend their Legionaires.

Although Myrmidons seem to be better for this role as they have superior attack and can devastate non-greek soldiers.

Nah!, Rome is WAY too similar to the Greeks, if you want Legionnaires, request the French

I agree with these guys that the Romans are too similar to the Greeks in gods. But their myths may still vary a tad, and the possible existence of a Roman Collesseum or an army of Roman legions is still a nice idea...

I'd rather see the Cthulhu mythos, but that's probably just me. Maybe a modder will take on that task ...

Yah, romans could have all the same units and god's with different names! At least all the balance folks will be happy.

Insert catchy, wise, individualistic, or otherwise humorous phrase concerning religion, politic, or narcissistic tendencies/delusions of grandeur (real or imagined)----> here

All these people say that it would be bad if there was a Roman civ in AoM because they look like the Greeks.

But I think that is what woild be cool about them, to have a civ that looked like and had similar gods as the Greeks. I'd be cool, the gods would be ultimately be the same, but with different names and portraits. Like Athena would be wearing Centurion armor instead of hoplite armor. Aphrodite would have brown or black hair since Romans=Italians.

Hoplite = Legionnare
Hypaspist = Phalanx
Hippokon = Cataphract
Myrmadon = Praetorian (instead od bonus vs forginers, Praetorians will have bonus vs Romans, since Praetorians were the Roman police)

I even have a hero system made up for them. It's based on the old Norse system where when a unit kills enough units, it becomes a hero. Well, there will be a buildable unit called the Centurion(maybe with an anti-building bonus), after it gets like 5 kills or so, it'll upgrade to a Hero(Roman name for Hero perhaps). Also Rome gets 1 starting hero like Egyptians called the Caesar with some sort of empowering-esque power.
