In general, Norse and Greeks start with Cavalry for raiding and Egyptians with spearmen for defense. Then ranged units are added and massed to form the bulk of Classical Armies.
Norse: Have starting Ulfsark and will build Hersir during the transition. Generally raid with Raiding Cavalry and Throwing Axemen form the bulk of their army. Einherjars are likely the only MUs.
Odin:Raiding Cavalry followed by Throwing Axemen
Loki:more Hersir with Raiding Cavalry + Einherjar (ASAP)
Thor:Throwing Axemen followed by Raiding Cavalry
Egyptian:Have starting Pharoah and Priest. Generally defend with spearmen and slingers. Annubites or Wadjets may appear early.
Ra:additional Priests with spearmen followed by slingers
Isis:spearmen followed by slingers
Set:animals with slingers followed by axemen
Greek:Have starting Kataskopos possibly Archaic Age Hero. Generally have Hippikons for defense and raiding then mass Toxotes for bulk of army. Centaurs may appear really early.
Zeus:Jason + Odysseus with Hippikons followed by Toxotes
(Unless fast Classical Advancement then Centaurs + Heroes followed with Hippikons then Toxotes)
Poseidon:Theseus + Hippolyta with Hippikons followed by Toxotes
Hades:Ajax + Chiron with Toxotes followed by Hippikons
Of course this just helps with trying to predict what the first builds of my opponent will be but it might just let me get the upper hand early and sometimes that’s all it takes to win.
