So, i'm roughly a 1700 player, a bit more most of the time, so i'm not a beginner, but the other day i got FM'd... that's right, fast mythic'd... by another odin player. he got there i'd say around the 11 minute mark, at which point he used fimbulwinter then walking woods, then pumped the jarls and got his economy back in order. i lost, and i was wondering if this is happened to anyone else, or if they think it's a viable strat... i've used it twice since, and won both times, and one of thimes, before i got to mythic, i had lost the water (anatolia map) and was losing by about a thousand points, in the end i won by nearly two thousand, against a zeus player

Not an expert by any means, but a FM is a fast mythic, a slight contradiction. Shouldnt you be raiding etc so he doesnt have the chance? Even as Zeus i try to do this, if you notice he hasnt got a miltary then you would forward build and rush at him ???

alright, cool thanks guys, i wasn't sure... i mean i know i played a poor game when i lost to it, but you have to remember, the fimbulwinter plus the walking woods means his economy was stagnant then for at least a minute or so, allowing me to get mine back up to speed (it already was fairly decent) and start producing those damn jarls that everyone whines about (cost effective, they aren't overpowered, i don't care what anyone says), but i appreciate the posts from you guys, maybe i'll tweak it a bit and make it a "viable" strat, as NIB says

Ummmmmmmmmm at the 11 minute mare i am either in heroic myself or i have a pop cap to easily kill his 20 villagers and even if he casts fimbul winter and walking woods a big classic army will beat it senseless and he wont have any econ to make jarls!

I played a guy who did the exact same thing! Maybe it was the same guy.
The fimbulwinter didn't actually hurt much, and his economy sucked pretty bad, but him being in mythic and me not let him make hill forts and other nice stuff while hoplite+toxote kept dying and rams kept hitting me. It was really annoying and I should have been able to beat it but obviously am not skilled enough (1600-1700).
