The best God is often the one that you think looks the most appealing when you read their individual benefits.
Though, to name a few strongpoints Isis is good for beginers because she is very defensive. She also has an excellent line of God Powers and very nice economic bonus.
Loki is good to take over map early and quickly.
Odin is good for raiding early on, but not so much a rush.
(Norse are my favorite)
Zues has extremely powerfull infantry and can actually pull off a rush with a bit of skill, primarily though, he dominates in late classic and heroic, until then he holds his own nicely at home with toxotes and Hoplites.
(I like Zues)
Posseidon's cavalry are unmatched. Follow a God Path through Hermes, Dionysus, and perhaps Hepheastus and you will in good shape.
Hmm... Set also has a powerfull rush when you incorporate the animals but that requires sufficient micromanagment and some foresight....
Ra is a major boomer, he has almost zero strength in earl classical, but gains considerable power when he hits heroic, Though I don't play him much and can't really say. I do know however, that it is unwise to use him in a 1v1.
Hades is a problem for me. He allows for almost zero Raiding (meaning you can't hit his eco) and has a powerfull archer attack of his own. I have never once used Hades but I always have a problem when I play a skilled Hades player because I love to raid at seven mins or less, and Hades is excellent defender. (however, his army likely consists of archers, so in a fight, I will be vivtorious with my RC, I just can't approach his Sentinaled town until late classic, early heroic.)
Thor......hmmm
Thor can be good for a balanced early Econ I think.... Hm..
dunno really. What is thor's strongpoint?
