I made the HUGE mistake of not paying attention to what God my opponent was useing and then just playing the game through like I would normally.
I play a boom with raids eco as odin and it works well vs. the common opponent, and is a very typical strat with my particular diety, however, against a Loki rusher it spells certain death.
At 6:30- 6:45 he started to attack with hersir and I had only three Raiders as my eco to that point had been put into upgrades and a solid classical, where he had spent every dime on his military. I had no idle rax time from any of my three longhouses, but they had only been up long enough to make 1.5 raiders each. I figured I was playing an idiot to attack my town with Hersir at 6:45 and so I went with my three raiders to kill them, and then figured I'd push the attack and counter thrust into his forward and shred it, then hit his gold........it wasn't until his raiders came to back up the hersir and then he summoned an instant ein right in the middle of the fight that I realized what I was dealing with.
I didn't have nearly the army he did and the free myth were smashing me up. He tore down my rax then a couple houses while his cav hit my woodies and prevented more farms from going up. It was a total disaster. Moral?
Pay attention to the opponent you are up against and play the game accordingly. I could have altered my start a little to build a couple x-tra towers and TA instead of RC. Had I done this and stayed at home, waiting to smash his rush, then I would have easily won the game. Be carefull when you play.
