This is not really a strategy in its own right thus I have not called it as much but more of an idea for mid-late game using pos. I was just messing around playing 1700+ rated random greek when I half thought half just kind of did what follows. Basically it involves spamming a ridiculous amount of stables all over the map as walls, LOS on gold mines tc's etc but also in late game pushes to gain map control
As we all know poseidons buildings, when killed produce militia, these although taking pop, like a titan, appear regardless of whther you are at pop cap. Now I do not have the actual stats and cant really be assed to look them up but for 85 wood you get 2-3 militia. That is about 40 wood for a unit that cost eff. is very strong. Instead of making walls to prevent raidin your gold, make stables, they are stronger, produce a defence force upon destruction, produce cav and cost only a little more than your usual wall. Mid classical once I have 2 tc's up I start spamming stables as walls walling off my opponents gold/TC's from him. This is surprisingly very effective. If you have 3 stables surrounding a large gold mine, your opponent has to kill these with his vils and lose vils to your miltia, or use his miltary to come and destroy them with obvious advantages to you. You now also have los of where he is gathering gold and can raid accordingly.
In a game last night against a norse player I effectively won by stable pushing him during heroic battles back to his TC's gaining map control and denying him gold, not to mention the fact that I could spam hips/prods from innumberable stables. If you need inf or archers then switch military buildings but in general spam stables as they are cheaper. It was really good fun, you only need 3-4 vils with your army and just spam away stables. So instead of tower pushing (you can do this at the same time.) try spamming stables instead.
Now obviously you are going to need a lot of wood (well not that much) for this but in mid-late game you should have a lot if you macro your econ correctly and get those upgrades.
Just thought I'd share this little idea I had as its fun but also very effective against all civs really. This is naturally not always a game winning strat if very often at all but be creative and give it a whirl and see if you have any success with it, gl hf
