Tahattus presents...
Starring... Cost: 50 food, 2 favor Well, let's start... The pegasus is a myth unit available only to the greeks. It's a flying scout, really good in its job. It's slower than the kataskopos, but remember, it flies, and can be trained - and you have just one kataskopos! The pegasus also have another problem, it can't convert pigs (and goats and cows). So, it can only be used to explore tha map. But it is such a stupid unit, where can we use it? It's useless and cost 2 POP CAP! So, let's start with the points: It has 18 LOS, and the kataskopos has only 14. Due to the fact that the MU is more resistant and can created more than one, it wins the competition. But how is it effective? Of course, i won't tell you any scouting tech, but here's something that i usually do: Select the MU, and click to any point of the map. Then, click several times in the map, holding shift. Pegasus will explore the whole map, while you can pay attention to your town center. Easy, don't you think? But, what happens if the winged horse cross an enemy tower? Well, let's see: Zeus and Poseidon Watch tower, Egyptian Watch Tower, Norse Watch Tower: (towers only upgraded with Watch tower) Hades Watch tower: Well, it seems that the pegasus is pretty weak. And what happens if it finds a Fortress? Pegasus, crossing the Fortress, lost 102 HP - now it has only 38. Well, well, well of Urd, It's very fragile unit. If it crosses an enemy town center, it looses about the same damage of a tower. So, let's go to the second use of the pegasus. Pretty simple, just put some pegasus around your enemy base, so you can see your enemy's villagers working. Your only problems are... a) The priest of doom If your enemy discover yout trick, he's gonna kill your scouties. So run! If the enemy is Egyptian, he's gonna use a priest or a Pharaoh. Let's see how much damage the pegasus takes until leaving the enemy's sight: Against a Pharoah, it took no damage, due to the fact that you can see the enemy coming before he attacks. But, an unupgraded pharaoh can cause 11 damage to the pegasus, each shot. But, what happens when you are being followed by 2 priests of doom (priests 4th age with hand of the pharaoh)? Each priest causes 14 damage to the winged horse. Only if it's really far, it can avoid the priests. But, well, well, well of Urd, The peagus died! b) Odysseus, Chiron and Hippolyta (unupgraded all) Odysseus: If he start attacking a pegasus, Each attack will cause 44 (!) damage to him. Odysseus hit it 3 times before loosing it, so, the pegasus stayed with 8 hp (-132 hp) Chiron: He has about the same speed of the pegasus, so he could shot it only once (48 damage per shot) Hippolyta: Oh god, she has the worst aim in the world, she's slow, but she caused 82 damage to the horse! Keep your Mu away from her, plz! Well, well, well of Urd, that's why i create pegasus: The crushy-flushy technique is incredible: Creste a ton of pegasus and BOOM! God power! Here are some GP that fit perfectly on pegasus: a) Underworld Passage: Usually, only needs 1 pegasus. If you are going to use it inside the enemy's town, use > b) Lightning Storm: Well, usually we use this during an attack, but if you really think that those Ragnarok heroes are scarying you, send 2 - 3 pegasus - we never know if there are some muspell axes near us... c) Pestilence: Humm... i dont know why, but its better during attacks. If you really wants to do this, send 2 - 3 pegasi to do this. d) Curse: It depends. If you are going to use this on infantry, only one pegasus. You are going to do this on archers, use 3 - 4. At least one will survive. e) EARTHQUAKE!!! My best pegasus combo uses 10 pegasi, that are already in the map when the enemy invoked the Titan Gate. Just fly, and earthquake it quickly. If your enemy is really powerful, more pegasus. This technique is very dangerous... but if you loose theses pegasus... bye -bye. The Earthquake can only take 50% damage on titan gates. Well done, let's see its upgrades: Winged Messenger (50 gold, 10 favor) Makes the pegasi cost only 2 favor! Mass them! Only available to Hermes. They train faster and gives to them more LOS (24 LOS!!!) Bacchanalia (300 wood, 20 favor) - Dionysus Gives to your pegasus 7 hp. (140 hp now - big difference) Oracle (150 wood, 10 favor) Apollo More los to it. (24 LOS) Oracle+Winged Messenger=32!!!!!! LOS!!!! AMAZING! Relics to Pegasus: Bridle of Pegasus - creates a free pegasus after a time. Just one. If this one dies, it'll reappear after some time. Really nice, avery civilization can have a pegasus with this relic. Harter's Folly - gives +2 los Pandora's box - It trains 25% quickly - very useful to destroy the damn titan game. Pelt of Argus - Gives +6 Los (a fully upgraded pegasus with all the relisc has 42 Los!!!! Wedjat Eye - Pegasus cheaper in food. (45 food now) Well, well, well of Urd, it's done. Later i'll fix some thins to make it easier to read. Bye! If something is wrong, post, i'll correct it. [This message has been edited by Tahattus (edited 03-29-2004 @ 02:30 PM).]
