Okay, I have watched the replay and, well, I thought wtf...
THIS IS NO LOKI RUSH!No insult intended, but this is a Loki maximum n00b expansion turtle poor build order playing tactics.
You know, a rush is something in which you preferably build close to your opponent, train troops right after hitting classical age and attack him as early as possible. Let us have a look at what you did.
The map was Mediterranean. Not exactly a map that is well suited for a rush, but well, it is not impossible to try it. As a matter of fact it is a fishing map. You started gathering chicken although there was a boar sitting right within your base. It would have been no problem hunting it first. You could have sent in your ox cart so the boar will attack it when your vill shoots at it. Your TC was also in range and could also have shot at the boar. You know, hunters gather food much faster than chicken slaughterers. You immediately made a dock but had no wood to make any boats afterwards. Instead of getting wood asap, you first started to mine gold with several dwarves, gold that you had no use for that early. Meanwhile, your new dock was sitting idle, and the wood you paid for it could pretty much be considered wasted. You had only one ulf when going classical. For a rush, you should see that you get a second one before advancing, so that you can erect longhouses faster when you hit classical age. You built your temple at home. You wanted to rush, but still you erected this important production building as far away from the enemy base as possible. In classical age you made a second temple at your forward build. You could have saved that money by making your temple there in the first place. When you hit classical age, you did not have the wood and personnel to quickly erect longhouses. For that reason, you quickly accumulated tons of food and gold without being able to spent it on troops. The reason was that you spent all your wood on fishing boats. Basically, making boats was not a bad idea, but you should have adjusted your economy so that you gather accordingly more wood. Rather than making troops as quickly as possible in order to execute your rush, you built a TC first. This is boom tactics, no rush. As if that had not been bad enough, you even built and upgraded a tower at your forward build. So rather than attacking, you prepared defenses for a possible incoming attack. This has nothing to do with a rush. Finally at 10:15 (a time when some other players are already deep in heroic age) you had accumulated an army that you deemed worthy for an attack. You proceeded with that army into the enemy base. But you spotted a horrible thing there: Enemy villagers mining gold! That was such a dangerous encounter that you immediately withdrew your troops and fled into the safety of your fortified forward build.Do you need any more explanations why your "rush" failed?
I can only suggest that you
play with more courage. Do not smoke up your troops against superior opposition, but make sure that opposition actually exists before you withdraw. watch replays of elite Loki players so that you get an impression what a real Loki rush looks like.
