Just some simple tips that I find fairly effective when playing as thor....
Use dwarfs...typically dont use villagers until mythic, gathering food for age advances is easy when you only use dwarfs, and they are just as good as villies when yer thor. I usually start out w/ about 5 dwarves on gold, then get some on food, then wood. Pumping out TA's in earlier ages w/ some raiding cavalry will not drain your food economy either, so you can afford to harrass your enemy with small parties of this, and at least hurt his economy. Usually in late classical or mythic, I launch one of these small parties and build a forward base outside of his base, usually consisting of about 8 TA's, 4 RC's, and a few ulfsarks sprinkled for good measure, in case he has cavalry. My best advice is get that Dwarven Armory up as fast as possible. It's crucial that you get pierce armor upgrades in order to effectively rush him. I usually take out his towers, build longhouses where they were, and flood him w/ ulfsarks. By this time your food economy should be strong enough to flush enough ulfsarks to take the win. This is possible to accomplish now, but if you loose, just press some more. The best advice is to keep pushing no matter what, and never let down, or else he might counter. The sturdiest rushing tool is a hill fort, and you can plop down 1 or 2 in later ages, just make sure you have substantial funds, and you dont cut your own throat by not having enough gold to make some ulf's later on. Remember to upgrade pierce armor constantly, never stop upgrading it, as it is your main source of advantage as Thor.

In conclusion, Thor can be one of the most effective Norse gods. The above is just a simple guidline for basics, maybe a noob can look at em and learn. All I know is I cut my mythic time in half w/ this strategy (it was 30 minutes w/ egypt, now it's 15). I'm not exactly all that great of a player, but my skill level has doubled since tryout out an all dwarf strat.
Kudo's go to the guys at Planet AoM. Where I just read about using all dwarves, then I tried it out for myself. Hope this helps any people trying to get good at Norse, I find them the most entertaining of the races.
