Hi Folks, I'm from Germany and experienced, that this Page is very informative, so now my question:
I want to create a place where also ships AND Land-Units can walk over. But the only "water" I found was the egypt nil shallow, but no ships can pass through this "water", but I downloaded a map called "africa", where this "place" was used. I can'T find it in the editor, can you help me? I hope u all understood my question. Thx 4 replies.

I don't think it's possible, at least with the editor tools.

i've done this once, but i find it bery difficult to recreate... obviously there is a minimum depth of water that ships can sail through, and a maximum depth that units can walk through, and they overlap ever so slightly, or at least I think they do, mine may have had something wrong with it at the time, because as I said it has been impossible to reproduce. If you put down a normal river, full depth, and then use the terrain elevation tool to alter it, then you can try different depths and the effects of them, if you get a depth that by some miracle works then use the terrain sample tool to copy + paste it...don't hold your hopes up though.
Nile River Shallow is a water type that units can walk through (but ships can't). However, you can try to copy and paste the elevation from the Africa map you got.
