When I place an object as GIAI the object defaults to an eggy object if there are different styles for the same object name. Eq a house, shrine, column.

Does anyone know how I can change the default civ for GIAI other than using a player 1 - 9.

Many thanks

I doubt it vaz,

I know what you mean, and I wanted to change it too at times, but I really don't think there is a way to change it. At least not in the editor. There might be a different way, but I doubt it.

No use to you Editor guys, but finally!, the RMS has something that the editor don't!

rmSetGaiaCiv()

I suppose you could use it somehow - by perhaps creating a .xs script that the only thing it does is set the Gaia civ to what you want:

void main() {
rmSetGaiaCiv(cCivZeus);
}

then create a new scenario with that script as the starting point and see if you can place object as greeks...

This is the only thing that the RMS has over the editor. For the most part it seems that the RMS is an after thought to the editor.

Okay - I confirmed this and it does work.

Download this zip and put the contained files in the aom/rm directory. Then generate a new scenario with the script SetGaiaCiv.xs
http://www.beerinhand.com/aom/SetGaiaCiv.zip

The Script:

void main() {
rmSetMapSize(500,500); // METERS
rmSetSeaLevel(0);
rmTerrainInitialize("GrassA");
rmSetGaiaCiv(cCivOdin);
}

That will generate 500x500 flat map with the terrain as grass and default the Gaia civ to Odin. You can edit this to create larger maps with any terrain desired and pick any civ desired:

const int cCivZeus=0;
const int cCivPoseidon=1;
const int cCivHades=2;
const int cCivIsis=3;
const int cCivRa=4;
const int cCivSet=5;
const int cCivOdin=6;
const int cCivThor=7;
const int cCivLoki=8;
const int cCivRandom=9;
const int cCivGreek=10;
const int cCivNorse=11;
const int cCivEgyptian=12;
const int cCivNature=13;

It seems the default is cCivNature, which is egyptian...
