This week we present our final showcase, covering the dark land of Mordor, home of Sauron, maker of the Ring of Power.

Quote:

In the Anor age, the Age of the Sun, Sauron has the chance to make alliances with the gruesome trolls in order to help his defeat of the other races. Although the troll is a normal unit and not a special unit, the Troll minor civilisation also gives you the special Olog-Hai troll. These are much more powerful than normal trolls, and are easily one of the strongest anor age special units. The trolls also bring you gifts that can make your normal trolls stronger. On maps where water is of importance, trolls can give you the fearsome kraken, the Watcher in the Water from Moria, to sink your enemy ships.

Check it out! Also be sure to check out our old showcases and our screenshot section, which has recently been updated.

You are using the encylopedia of arda, are you not?
I found that the encyclopedia was an awesome wealth of tolkien information.

Anyways this mod looks great, are there any plans for more updated "showcases" for the mod?

Isn't it nice asking that after the final showcase is out?

Well, for future updates, I'll ask kallo about what to do.

Yes we are. However, the EoA is only a reference site, and it doesn't contain anything new. EoA only summarizes the information found in the books, so while some of us just use the EoA, I like to look in the books for direct reference

Most likely around December, along with The Return of the King movie.

I'm pretty sure many other scenario designers knew. :P

I mean the whole MeMMod team is dedicating a good part of their life, to this mod which will create for AoM junkies the Lord of The Rings world.

I am pretty sure with all the publicity even you knew the release date LD. :P

It's actually called the Legends of Middle Earth Mod (LoME).

Is there a rough estimation as to how much this mod will be to download? I mean changing... everything has got to take up a significant amount of disk space.

I'd think so, anyways. Or what's the deal?

We're not quite sure but we will release it in seperate parts (Textures, Models, Scenarios, etc.) and we will have a program that can switch between AoM/LoME pretty fast, much like the old AoK Modding Program.

Sweet! I know I'm gonna be leaving it on LoME for quite a while before I switch back.

Will LOME effect the scenarios played in multiplayer? What about the campaigns?

It will affect everything about AOM. I don't think you will be able to play it online unless the people you are playing with all have the mod installed as well.

Not a campaign, but most likely three, perhaps two.

The War of the Jewels

Campaign about The Silmarillion.

The Lord of the Rings

Sort of obvious, isn't it?

Other Battles-Title unconfirmed

Other battles that are not in the two campaigns, such as the Wainriders attack, the battle with Angmar, the attack of the corsairs, the Last Alliance, etc.

EDIT: Oh, and we released 8 new screenshots for you to look at. Visit the gallery.

Well it depends because it is really huge, for all campaigns we'll need lots of cinematics for the the Non-Tolkien freaks so we really can't say

Now, by "...the Non-Tolkien freaks..." did you mean that they are not "Tolkien freaks", or that those who do not know and enjoy Tolkien are freaks?

Just a question. I myself have read most of Tolkien's work, but I'm wondering if those who haven't have reason to be lightly offended.

A Tolkien Freak is a person who knows more than the Encyclopedia of Arda (). A Non-Tolkien Freak is the average guy who read LoTR and maybe the Silmarrilion. While they enjoy Tolkien's works, they aren't fanatics.
