How many people have gone into their 4 player scenario on ESO and discovered only 1 other person wants to play? So the obvious thing to do is have a 1v1 right?

But what about those other 2 players that just remain idle throughout the game, very likely causing unwanted lag.

With this solution, involving just two easy triggers you can make what I call "Idle Players," go kaput.

You need one set of these for each player.

Trigger A

Active, Yes
Loop, No
Immediate, whichever you prefer

Conditions

Timer

  • This can be however long you want to wait before the Idle Player is destroyed, a good round time is 60 seconds.

    Effect

    Player Destroy all Buildings

  • This would be the Idle Player's Number

    Player Destroy all Units

  • This would be the Idle Player's Number

    Now this second Trigger is just as important if not more than the first, mainly because if you do not put this in all the players will be destroyed, ruining the game.

    Trigger B

    Active, Yes
    Loop, No
    Immediately, Yes

    Condition

    Unit Selected

  • Select the building or unit that you know, for sure that every player will select within the first minute.
    (A good building would be a town center)

    Effect

    Disable Trigger

  • Type in the input box, Trigger A.

    This trigger will allow the scenario to distinguish between Idle Players and the Actual Players.

    It is a good idea to have several Trigger B Type triggers, with a different important unit under the Unit Select condition, as to give the best chance to disable trigger A.

    Check out that thread for a new trigger condition - "Player Human", which takes a true/false parameter. I believe that reyk has added this to the trigger xml file he is maintaining.
