I have a question for CheeZy and Reyk please. My question involves the Utility Programs page in the AoM Heaven website.
Today (yesterday) was Christmas, and December 22nd was my birthday. For my birthday I bought AoM (vanilla) and have been trying to play catch-up on everything that has changed and whatnot.
Anyhow, having seen Reyk's new AoM Editor and thus downloading it I now have questions regarding it and the many other programs listed in the Utilities page.
First off Reyk said, "This version is only for the use with the X-Pack, but do also works with AoM - except the Titans innovations." Does this mean that it is completely compatible with AoM vanilla MINUS everything that's new in AoM TTx? If so, with me being new to AoM in general will I be able to TELL/SEE what belongs to AoM/TT so that I would know NOT to use it when editing AoM vanilla scenarios/maps?
Also, with this new editor, although I am asking alot of CheeZy and Reyk, would you mind doing a copy/paste of the 3 pages of Utilities and indicate next to each file name whether or not I should download and use them...ala would they be compatible with the new editor...perhaps were some of them included..like some of the trigger files/lighting files and programs etc etc.
Again, I know I am asking alot, but I am back to using dial up again and it takes forever to download things now, and if some of those utilities going back to Nov 2002 are obsolete now or incompatible, I'd rather not download them at all. Especially if some of these are overwriting ES AoM game and data files. I hope you understand what I am trying to ask, I don't always seem to convey or word my questions right.
If you do not have the time to assist me in this manner I totally understand and perhaps you can help me on this matter in a different way. Perhaps you can look at those 3 pages of Utility downloads and tell me which ones you recommend me to use. Perhaps this will be quicker and easier for you to do and spend time on.
A side note here: I downloaded several scenarios from the website's Downloads Spotlights page and I launched a couple of them..not to play them..I will later, but to look at them and I have to say I was really impressed with the maps. In particular I am referring to:
KoTM: Heroes of Avalon by Gaurdian_112 and
Battle for Helm's Deep by Meshcraft
VERY IMPRESSIVE maps. Super job!!!
Enough said!
Thank you to CheeZy and Reyk in advance for any replies you might make to this thread, and of course to anyone else who answers...especially the Authors of those Utilities themselves.
