The Seas Of Bartillia

Oh crap here we go again.

Download the WMV trailer here.
Sorry, it's not much

Story

Welcome to Bartillia, a world covered in oceans and islands.

Dollet and Morfin. Two countries that lie on the brink of war. The ruler of Morfin, King Munsnt has sent his son, Prince Cyrus, to investigate the situation between the two countries.

But Prince Cyrus didn't count on being ambushed on his journey to Morfin.

Now, strandered on an unknown island in the vast oceans of Bartillia, Cyrus and his surviving crew must find out a way to get off the island, create a ship and sail the seas of Bartillia, and get back home...and find out exactly why they were ambushed, and discover the truth of the going ons in Dollet.

Features

~Thrilling naval battles! Lots of different tactics required. For example, you can choose to fight ship to ship OR use a different stragery - lure your enemies into nearby rocks to destroy them.

~Different styles of game play. RPG, Free Roaming and Protect to name but a few.

~Suspensful storyline with many twists and turns!

~Excellent eye candy, map design and cinematics.

~Music from the Final Fantasy series adds to the atmosphere

Progress

Overall: Around 50/60% complete
5/7 Maps are done
3/7 of those maps have triggers

Prince Cyrus attempts to lure enemy ships into rocks

Cyrus surveys a destroyed city

Opening Cinematic. Father and Son, King and Prince watch the ocean.

Very cool! Scrunch is making a campaign! The thing with the oceans and naval battles is very creative IMO. Definately looking forward to it!

Nice announcement, but remove your sig from it and don't whisper, but highlight the screenies a bit (they're what everyone looks at first).

Got a few tips for your cinematics, in case you didn't know it already:
-Don't show the border of the map
-Use Render Fog/Black Map OFF/OFF
-Don't show the black space beneath the sky
-Make the intros skippable (check my sig for the guide)
That's it. I'm quite sure you knew all that already, but in case you don't, realize my points, because otherwise I'd find your cinematics... well, you know.

Scrunchy-babe is finally back
Story sounds good; just a matter of releasing though

adding on to AomPlayers points, I'd advise to Set Obscured Units OFF in cinematics.

Come back strong like the powered-up pacman.

That's right. I personally wrote a small list, which I have a look at everytime before I make a cinematic.

Apart from the things already mentioned, I use "Block All Sounds" (at the end of the cin "Unblock All Sounds"), too. Isn't good for battle scenes, though.

That's what I forgot to say. I offer my help, too (but not at playtesting, that takes too much time).

Good idea, not many naval scens, or maybe none, but cool idea, just try and actually finish it...

For a calming scene, the beginning cut to Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven would be great.

Anyway, the screens look great, I especially like the 2nd.
Keep it up.

Hm. I personally am not keen on that, why not take an unknown piece of music? Or of AoM itself? There're lots of music files and moods (plus it would save much filesize).

BTW, regarding your nice titles (like "Progress"), which are jpgs, from where did you get exactly the same background colour of AoMH? With a screenshot?

Paint . I just took a screenshot and used the tool to mimic the background colour. I think they're actually a bit big so I'll just use normal text instead.

I've found that some of the AoM music doesen't actually fit in with what I'm doing. As for the filesize, the music files (I'm only using three so far) are about a minute long so that shouldn't be too bad

God, you're right, it would fit perfectly with the opening scene! Thanks!

Might put the Immigrant song in joke, joke...
