This is an article. Unfortunately, I cannot post the article here because of both picture bandwidth leeching and the fact that I wrote it html, but heres an introduction and a link (much like the way Arch's was done the other day)

To be quite honest with you, I've seen a lot of shoddy camera work. So much so, in fact, that I decided to write this article. Hopefully, we shall no longer have to see the terrible whirlling camera tracks spinning randomly above a characters head. Soon, every shot will be envisioned to create that perfect atmosphere, every track will be used to it's full potential, and I like to hope that this article will be able to help that along a little bit.

Not really. They're there to demonstrate how to use a camera, not how to point the camera at eye-candy.

Anyway, thanks for your comments

And that doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, does it Scrunchy-babe?

Nice guide. Maybe you want to include a link to my guide to making the cin skippable, since nearly noone knows that (see my sig).

Nice guide.

Maybe you can ad some more examples of great movie directors like you did with Peter jackson and Tarentino.

I think the camera movements of Sergio Leone are also very usefull ( extreme close ups....timing..repeating of action)
maybe you can also ad Peter Jacksons first movie Bad Taste..In this movie he and his outback friends created very stunning shots on the cheapest possible way. He used a lot from these early techniques in the lotr movies.
Well there are a lot more great directors, which can inspire Aom designers ,you can think of.

Anyway nice guide.Maybe you can also add a sound in cinematics guide..because that is also important to create moods. ( leit motif, climaxes etc etc)

Best regards,

The Vandhaal

Hey, I wanna read this and will try to do so the next couple of days. I love this topic and to confess I started writing a similar article. It's up to two pages now so doubt I will ever finish it. Anyway, look forward to giving this a look at soon and thanks for writing about this interesting topic.

Sorry for the off topic

@RiderOfEternity

I am kind of busy in the other world and I had a short vacation...however I have come to the forums as regular as possible to check them out quick and short ( I haven't contributed much in the scnenario design forum the last weeks however I made a thread in the communtity forums about personal websites)

Best regards and sorry for the off topic,

The Vandhaal

I personally think this is one of the best articles I've ever read. Yeah, this is coming from someone who has possibly the worst cinematics in history (which changed thanks to this article and advice from AoMPlayer).

Now that's nice to hear. You're welcome .

Maybe you now can undelete my post and unban me from the LFS forum. Not that I would like to be that active there, but it's kinda ridiculous.

Cool guide, Esus_, sometimes people can get so wrapped up in the technical aspects of scenario design that they forget the artistry.

Dr Nick
I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception.
