When you use the effect - Change Unit Type - and change a cinematic block to a Titan Kronos, Kronos flashes up, dissapears, then comes out of the ground (using the default birth animation). The only solution I can think of is teleporting an already born Kronos to that position.

How can I stop him flashing up, and still using Change Unit Type, instead of Teleport Unit?

Thanks in advance, TitanHeart.

You can't just spawn a Kronos unit? If you have to use it with triggers, use Ghost armies or whatnot.

Can't be done. Sorry. Consider adding a distraction while the animation plays. It's all part of the creative challange.

Or, make a flash of dark purple or white that lasts for the duration of Kronos's quick need to 'dive' into the ground. Then it's like "Boom! Ahhhh, what's happening!? Look, there! It's... it's.... Kronos!?!?"

Dun dun dun.

Quoted from Zargax:

I am using triggers, I just don't know whether it would be easier with Teleport Unit or Change Unit Type.

Nice idea, but all that would'nt work, since I want Kronos to appear secretly behind my characters, without them knowing.

Quoted from Mythos_Ruler:

Excellent Ashtoro! LOL

Agrees .

Would it work using teleport unit (teleporting another Kronos to the place I want), then high priority, run immediately, active, condition always - use the birth animation immediately?

Set Animation won't play Birth Animations. There might be one used in a cinematic though.

Teleport Unit always works fine for me. So yea try that.

ACTUALLY I THINK I HAVE A SOLUTION. Play the animation and then teleport it after 1 sec or after he pops back into the ground.

Er... well, if it's a secret, the players wouldn't really see him pop up, would they?

Or, have every so often the screen suddenly go black with an Overlay saying 'Loading...' and have one of them while it happens, the screen popping back off after Kronos' 'dive'.

I'm useful for once! If only the situation really mattered to me.

And wow, I just figured out how to make the Open-mouthed smiley! I still don't know how to make a tounge smiley. :P
Er... like that one.

I think he means secret as in sneaking up behind units. Although I imagine something that big would have quite a hard time sneaking up on little units.

How about simply "Unit Create"?

^ Unit Create does the same thing.

Just place a kronos somewhere safe on the map and teleport him.

But then the Birth Animation won't play, right?

Of course.

There's a cinematic animation for Kronos' birth; maybe you want to try that.

A lot of errors come with "Unit Create".

Now, though, it looks random! - Sometimes there is a flash, some there is no flash at all, and a clean appearance!

Use:

1) Change Cinematic Block to Kronos. - somewhere where player can't see. Make sure you have the heading the way you want it (heading is direction it's facing).

2) Have Run Immediately, High Priority, Timer 1 Condition. Teleport Unit.

If it's a cinematic, perhaps you can use a Camera Track that's 0.25 sec long as timer. Camera Tracks are more accurate timers than the Timer Condition.

Well if its a cinematic I would not bother with the unit create or change effect.....just place the guy somewhere and teleport him in..or...

Asthorors idea with the flash isn't so bad.....if you like to have the Titan sneak up you have to find some more quiet way..

maybe you can make a camera track which only shows the legs of Kronos behind the heroes...or better "hide" Kronos in another object and remove that or let him step forward.

If its not a cinematic you can do the hiding thing also...
but in that case do not forget to set his los to 0 (so the T isn't visible) and to reset the blackmap just a vew sec after the start (to hide him )

I think I see what you're trying to do - you want him to look like a sorta ghost rising out of the ground?
