What does everyone think about designers going ahead and releasing incomplete projects? I for one have two projects that I spent a lot of time on, yet, I don't seem to have the time nor energy to complete them. I don't want all that effort to go to waste, plus maybe a newbie designer might find some inspiration or new tricks from them.

Any opinions? Should I?

About a month ago I mentioned it to Byz who mentioned it to Soccy who vaugely muttered something nonbinding to get out of work. The idea was a seperate downlods section for it.

So yeah, maybe.

No. Try to find another designer to finish them. Actually, if it's a campaign, so long as you have some of the scenarios done, I guess it's alright. I wouldn't suggest it, though. And the scenarios would certainly have to be finished and playable.

hey guys, remember the map "Looking for Loki"?
No one ever did anything with it, and it just remained a nice map sitting there in archives.
I don't think that published unfinished projects will be completed, plus it's not fair to the original creator for someone else to claim the "glory" of the finished project.

I dont see how releasing them incomplete is a waste. Please clarify. Plus, when releasing unfinished projects, I would be giving up all rights to them. I am saying here, do what you want with them. I spent a lot of time on them, but am incapable (for whatever reason) of completing them. So here community, use them for whatever purpose you wish.

sorry Mythos_Ruler, my personal opinion only but I feel that it's something like "second hand shoes".
When you make the map and trigger of an idea you have in your mind, how can I go and finish your idea by using your work-even when you give up all your ethical rights. Of course I'd have to change it around and work on it, and if I'm gonna do that, why not start my own thing from scratch?

if you have unfinished scenarios, email them to me:
spitfire.23@gmail.com. If you describe what's going on and it doesn't suck, I might work on it.

Argh!!!! I didn't say I'd release them for others to finish them! I said I'd release them for people to just take a look. Whether you finish them or not, I don't care. No one is forcing you to finish anyone else's project.

You people are impossible.

You mean release unfinished scenarios just so people could look at them? No, nobody wants to do that.

It's hard enough understanding the triggerwork in a scenario where you know what's supposed to happen.

I got 1 unfinished Campaing, but it will be ready, donīt matter how long it takes.
I hate to have uncompleted scens in my gamefolders after a time you donīt find anything there, so I put them in backupfolders..

I was looking the first time at the downloadsection couple of days ago and I really wondered, why there was incompleted maps. My first thought was why the hell should I play something which I may like and then the story just stops and I will never know how it ends? So I would never download these maps for playing. For finishing them nether, because I got different xpacklanguage.dll and the triggers wonīt work if I open the map in the editor.
