Gaurdian_112's Lost Scenarios.

File Details
Version: AoM: The Titans
In this file are about 6 different scenarios I never released. In the course of creating award winning scenarios Birthright-The Adventure and Heroes Chronicles, I was side-tracked every so and often by a few scenarios.

While these are not playtested, and some are rather incomplete (atleast 2 or 3 do not contain any triggers, but only map design), they are a treat.

I thought it would be nice to release some of my unfinished work- if only to inspire some, or for pure enjoyement.

What I do know is that 'The October Horse' (october.scx), The Talisman of Troy (talisman.scx, which I posted under the alias 'Pompey Magnus'), and TLS (The Last Spartan) are all somewhat complete, albeit a few bugs.

Birthright Prologue is a cinematic that was supposed to be released with the action-adventure RPG Birthright-The Adventure.

map Gaurdian.scx was supposed to be a collaboration between many designers for a unique RPG scenario. You can probably tell which section I designed=).

Enjoy guys!

Let me add that three of these scenarios are:

- 512 X 512 in size.
- Filled with lots and lots of awesome eye candy.
- Have great story lines- The October Horse was supposed to be an offshoot of the KoTM series (a 4th part but it never materialized).
- Lots of action-packed RPG/RTS action.
- Hours of gameplay.

Enjoy!

Awsome Gaurdian. I will dl them now.
I'm axtuelly excited to go look at them. I have atleast 5 unfinished maps, but I think I'll come back around and work on them. Why don't you do the same?

Meh, I've already released 7 scenarios for AoM (The Talisman of Troy was actually released before)- and my main goals and achievments, KoTM, Birthright and Heroes Chronicles, have been realized.

I really had nothing more to do with AoM. I've really exhausted the editor when it comes to myself. These scenarios were just in-betweens.

They are fun, but I can't see myself completing them, especially considering that they are almost 2 years old.

But play them anyways!

I'm on vacation so I can't really tell whats what, but if u find any unfinished maps, you can always use them for your work (provided I get SOME credit).

*bump*

Should've hyped these long ago eh? Here's the announcment thread for one of these scenarios anyways (The Talisman of Troy):

THE TALISMAN OF TROY

Prologue:

Once, long ago, a mighty king of kings embarked on a large enterprise to bring down the only obstacle in his quest for glory- the impregnable city of Troy.

After a grueling siege that was to last for ten, long years, Agammemnon, the king of kings, finally subdued and burned the city to the ground.

The night Troy fell, the gods came to Agammemnon and told him of his fading glory- a glory that would soon come to an end.

Agammemnon, determined to punish Troy forever for wasting away ten years of his life, ordered the execution of all the sons of Troy.

A young woman, seeking to save her son and the last lineage of mighty Troy, sets him out to sea, to a land which will soon be known as Italia...

Story:

The Talisman of Troy follows the life of young Aeneas- twenty years after the fall of Troy. When a group of cultists- still loyal to the long dead Agammemnon- learn that a son of Troy still lives, they set out on a quest to fulfill Agammemnon's last orders.

Young Aeneas, oblivious of his past, finds himself thrust into a world of politics and revenge he would never have imagined- and with him he carries the last vestige of a mighty city- the Talisman of Troy.

Features:

- RPS(Role Playing Strategy)and RPG Gameplay in the style of the old AoK scenarios.

- 512 X 512 map filled with magical forests, hundreds of surprises and beautiful cities.

- A gripping, plot-twisting, thrilling story, along with an emphasis on story and its development.

Author's Note:

The story is completely of my own making. The fact that certain characters, such as Aeneas, are in the story is actually coincidencial. For those who know who don't know who Aeneas is, he is the founder of Rome.

I did, however, take the title from a book by Valerio Massimo Manfredi- The Talisman of Troy. I didn't read the book yet, though- so the story is really completely of my own making.

I know references to Troy can be a little frustrating to many people, and may be a reason not to download this scenario- I would like to assure everyone that this scenario is NOT revolved around the Siege of Troy. I think good ol' Ensemble Studios did a fine job on portraying that scene and there's no need to do it all over again.

I'm having a little trouble hosting screenshots- no good file image host. That little logo on top was the best I could do for now.

Expect this to be released in the next few days- and hopefully I can get a good batch of reviews from a mixed variety- from the newbies to the oldies.

I wanted to add certain new features like, for example, jumping- but I decided against it. For several reasons. Testing new features on this scenario would make it too buggy. And, in any case, I do find the scenarios of old in the good old AoK style do tend to entice more followers.

Still, in my next scenario (which I've been working on for several months), which is as of yet unnamed, I have included practically every new thing I could think of- from stamina, to choosing your own race, gender and weapon and even your own name, to a food meter and even a stealth meter.

Any comments?

I love when people publish their unfinished work. I have a lot of it myself, and it's usually a goldmine.

I will download now, and thank you.

Bear in mind that 'unfinished' work for me usually means that it is a complete story, with hundreds of triggers, but just isn't playtested etc..- and was just never released.

Like I said, at least 3 of them are highly playable.

I think I'll release it independently too.

You should check for bugs and faults before releasing it, though.
