Cows and the other crashable animals do not crash for the same reson as everything else. This I figured out has something to do with them gaining food slowly (fattening). However, what if you transfrom them into a state where they do not gain food? Indded, so if you do that there is no crash. One definate state the cow can go in which does not gain food is death. If you transfrom a projectile into a cow with no hitpoints, the cow will die and fall on it's side but nothing more. Because the cow does not properly die at 0 hitpoints it stays lying flat but nothing much more happens. At least those designers who love to have catapults firing cows and stuff can now do it. Just make sure the cow has 0 hitpoits then you do it.
p.s. I have tried other methods including attempting to stop the cows from fattening completely but I have failed to stop them fattening, only speed it up much to my annoyance.
