So I've recently begun work on a "trial campaign" of sorts to test both my creativity and my patience :P However, I'm not quite as sold on the main point of the campaign as I'd like to be, so I'm offering up the storyline for analysis/criticism/whatever you choose to give it.
In the long-distant past, there was a mighty desert empire that stretched across continents. Palida was its name, and it was a rich land, ruled for generatins by a string of benevolent kings. Prosperity was everywhere, and though folk complained as they were wont to do, in truth there was relative happiness in the land. And there was no such thing as winter.
Until one day, a snowflake came spiralling down out of an iron-grey sky. Then a flurry. Then a howling blizzard, and with that blizzard came hordes of demons, and a man dressed in white who commanded both the creatures and the storm.
Since that day, the kingdom has not known a moment's peace.
And amidst this reign of chaos, a man, half-mad and dressed in tattered robes of grey, comes staggering out of the deserts, with no recollection of who he is or what his life was like before. In strange dreams and visions, he sees his homeland laid to utter ruin, but he does not grasp the significance of these dreams...or why they tie him so inextricably to the man in white, the man who has Palida locked in a frozen prison.
The player takes on the role of the amnesiac, who is giveen the name of Ryder, as he progresses from his emergence from the desert until...I don't know what. I like the direction I'm going, but I don't know how to get it off the ground. So comments, suggestions, ideas on where I should take this, ideas on where I shouldn't take this...give me everything.
Thanks to any and all contributors
