Castlewars 1.0

Gameplay
A new 5v5 multi-player online game based off the online game Runescape. Game features 3 different characters/races to choose from including a Mage, Range, or Melee which can be all upgraded at spots around the map. To win, players have to destroy a statue located in each of the castles.

Character Features
-Mage=Low Health, High Attack, Medium Range
-Range=Medium Health, Medium Attack, High Range
-Melee=High Health, High Attack


Upgrades
-Attack +1= 10 Gold
-Health +20= 25 Gold
-Range +3= 10 Gold

Yeah i knew you made a guide on how to get rid of large elevations but i couldn't understand it so yee helped me online.

From the little I can see through the small size of those shots, your map looks good. The gameplay sounds like fun, too

Heh, nice. I'm a big fan of Castlewars on RS, so I hope you can do this game justice. I think there should be more classes, though, like ancient mage, where you get the ability to lower speed and to hit areas (just make an archer fire a load of arrows for an easy ranged area attack), and maybe even try to reflect the specs in there, like allowing people to buy a dark bow, making them move slower (maybe just reducing projectile speed), but fire 2 arrows, or a crossbow, where they get more defence.

Heh, could even put in pures, set armour to 0, HP to 40, and then damage to 90.

If you want to make a more CTF-style thing. Then you could either do the classic relic grab, or maybe put a Reginleif in each base, set the healing range to something less than 0, speed to huge, and then make something damage the player when he gets close, meaning that the Reginleif starts sticking to the player, attempting to heal them, but not being able to because they're not within that impossible negative range.

Sorry to rain on your parade but i have some "faults" with the map, not anything major. In Runescape the Castlewars minigame has 2 cross points in each corner from the river, also in runescape your speed depends on how fast your agility is, maybe the flag bearer speed should be decreased in order for the enemy team to catch up? also what about the catapults? the underground?

This is only 1.0, there will be 2.0 and so-forth in which i will add these things suggested by Ymbirtt and howmuchweed.
Also, i added a catapult on the castle walls its just not in the screen shot cause it just added it.

Watch with the catapults. That's one thing you don't want to simulate from the real thing.

I doubt that Weed's idea of an underground would be possible, though, which is a real shame, but you could take the crossings and replace them with things like the underground boulder walls. You know, those things from the campaign where Chiron kicks the thing and gets killed by all those fire giants.

Actually my idea of an underground IS POSSIBLE! All you need to do i make the map super huge (long ways not all the way round) and put an underground area roughly the size of the actual map and you could do triggers to warp them from underground to above ground, itll take some serious work but is doable.

EDIT: The only problem would be the lagg, if your going to do the underground idea i suggest you cut the players down to 8 or 6.

Always wanted to try one of these RuneScape minigames too, but never felt like paying for a membership... at least not before i finished the F2P part.

You could possibly add some barricades as well, the same way as in BOXDIN(did you ever finish that?). And personally I don't think there should be to many ways to get to the castle, if you add the rocks of the river it might leave a bit too much to guard and it is only 5v5.
