Well, the game's secrets won't be seen by simply passing by them.
The only way to reach some of them are by secret passage.
Besides, who said that spawning weak ancestors in a yet-to-be-found area was a good idea anyway? Most likely they would just get killed in seconds.
There are no "special units" that will cause the game to be impossible if killed. Also, to prevent running from Boss Fights, a wall will appear behind them when the battle begins (but not an invisible wall, or else some people might get stuck behind it), so even if an event is triggered early, it won't be of much use.
EDIT: I've begun enemy placement in the 1st area. I'm currently attempting to get enemies to spawn in front of mine camps scattered around the place.
I don't think it is hard enough yet, because I was able to get through it so far using just the Warrior. Then again, that was just because I used the Wizard and the building's arrows to help me with kills.
...I'll go fix the building's range to prevent that now.
(By the way, is it possible to change Centaur and Ballista attack? It's stuck at 12 and 4 and I'm trying to get it as 10 and 5.)
EDIT 2: Enemy placement in the narrow pass is now complete. I realized that it isn't hard to create spawning units, and they appear in front of mine "entrances" a la Gauntlet Legends. Although there aren't many enemies compared to other RPGs, I was unable to get through the first area using only Warrior.
Also, Warrior is now completely done. I just have to fix up the other 7 characters and add on to the game's world, add the bosses, some towns here nad there...
Yeah. I say it might be like, 7% complete at this point.
