I want to play without Omniscience on my LAN with friends, because that tech is basically cheating. Right now, I can make copies of random maps in the rm2 folder, and modify them with this sort of script to make that work. Is there any way to have this trigger apply globally to all maps so I don't have to have 2 copies of every map?
//CHANGE displayNameID="" in xml file
//TOP
int cTechOmniscience=305;
int cTechStatusUnobtainable=0;
void removeTech(int i=1, int tech=0) {
rmAddTriggerEffect("Set Tech Status");
rmSetTriggerEffectParamInt("PlayerID", i, false);
rmSetTriggerEffectParamInt("TechID", tech, false);
rmSetTriggerEffectParamInt("Status", cTechStatusUnobtainable, false);
}
//END of main()
for(i=1; <cNumberPlayers) {
id = rmCreateTrigger("init_p"+i+"_bantech");
rmSwitchToTrigger(id);
rmSetTriggerRunImmediately(true);
removeTech(i, cTechOmniscience);
}

On topic - So it doesn't look like I can make a file that just goes in the trigger2 folder and is distributed to users on the LAN like that? I can easily edit all the maps we want to play one by one, it just seems more annoying to do it that way.
Off topic - It seems the way me and most of my friends play, BOTH teams have strong economies and such defenses and offenses that nobody is winning, both teams are sending wave after wave of troops at each other, and each player in a 2v2 game has probably 50K+ gold and food (wood not so much) from having so many caravans and farms. At that point in the game, or earlier, all 4 players just buy Omniscience and make it even harder to launch an effective attack around the back side of their town for example.
Late game, when it might only cost 500 gold to find their last few villagers, sure, that is useful, if people try to hide like that. Each player spending 30K to buy it early game seems kind of dumb to me.
If it was more expensive per unit, so that it cost 300K early game, but "only" 5K when there was 5 villagers left, it would be more balanced IMHO.

Yes, I've been playing mostly deathmatch in the past, and I prefer it to normal slow buildup, but for some reason, 2 of my friends wanted to start trying the regular Supremacy mode, which is fine and all, except for Omniscience now. I like that it was banned in Deathmatch.
