User Designer List (UDL) Story Screenshots: Story page 1 Story page 10 Story page 20 Story page 30 Story page 40 | Announcements - 6/15 A contest for best picture/caption will determine who starts the next story
Announcements will also be posted in bold green down at the comments. Announcements will stay here for 4 days after being removed. | The SST is an idea of Baske, HailToTheOboe and I. It was created because we felt it was unfair to hardcore screenshot designers that they only get one chance a week to make a screenie for the CSC.
That's all about to change, with the coming of The Screenshot Story Thread! In this thread designers will be making stories composed out of an x amount of screenshots.
Here's how the SST works:
The main idea is to make a screenshot that continues the story told in the screenshot before. A story lasts as long as the community wants. If I think the story is getting too long, I will state that the story should be ended within five screenies.
To make sure everybody gets a go at this, I have decided to use a subscription list, this is a list from 1 to 10, with names, when you're #1 on the list, it's your turn to make a screenshot. You will have 2 days to make a screenshot, if you haven't done it by then, #2 will become #1 and it's his/her turn.
Who determines the subject of the story? Nobody, I'll let you guys use your imagination and we'll see where the story brings us...
Use these templates when making a request to:
submit your name to the Upcoming Designers List: 'Your Name Here' wants to submit their name to the UDL
submit a screenshot (When it is your turn): "A Caption for the screenshot." 'The Screenshot Name Here'
replace a previous screenshot of yours. Use the same template as when you originally submitted the shot.
Thanks to Baske for creating all of the new theme graphics | Rules
- Every person who submits his/her name to the UDL is expected to have read, and understood the following rules.
- Keep to the CoC, obviously.
- Screenshots may not already exist, but must've been made during the 2 day timeframe.
- No flaming, but good, constructive criticism is allowed.
- When you're on the list you're not allowed to submit again until there are 5 designers behind you in line.
- Don't bring up any subjects that could cause disputes.
- When you have just submitted your shot and have just left the UDL, you have to wait for one new designer to enter the list before you. Then you are allowed to enter again. This rule is only applicable when only the #10 on the list is open.
- Use the templates or I won't look at it
(see left column)
- You may redo an already submitted screenshot done by yourself, but it must fit the caption you made for the screenshot.
- You may postpone your turn once, when you ask for your turn to be postponed it will be put down to #10, please note: just once and ask it within your time-limit.
- Every person on the UDL is expected to know the story, and follow its progress.
- If a newly added screenshot does not continue the former screenshot (which will be judged by Elrich and/or Baske), the screenshot is removed from the storyline, and the next person on the UDL will make a new shot. So, in this case, there will be no second chance.
- If you fail to make a picture during your turn and do not leave a message, then you will be dropped a Karma Rank and your next turn could be shortened to only ONE day depending where you are in the Karma Rank List. People who submit on time will be moved a step up in the Karma Rank List. More information HERE
*note: rules can be changed without notice as deemed necessary |

| "The world was spinning before my opening eyes. Battle had passed me over leaving me for dead with only the hiss of a smoldering fire and the stench of death for my senses to enjoy. I tried to sit up but the throbbing in my head was too great and I laid back down. I started reaching for my face which felt swollen and tender. The last thing I remember was my men retreating against my orders, not out of fear of battle, no, these men were much too hardened for that. Someone higher ranking than me must have commanded them to leave me to face this brutal enemy...alone. That is when the tree next to me exploded from a petrobolos shot sending shards and splinters of wood in every direction. They found my only unprotected flesh - my face. As my hand slowly moved closer it stopped short when it hit the end of a wood fragment that in return sent back sharp pain. I started thinking of those who I thought could have betrayed me as I pulled the shard from my cheek. The wood had swollen tight in my flesh and and stretched my skin as I pulled until with a snap it let me go. I withstood the horrible pain by imagining that for each fragment I pulled from my face, I will be pulling the sword out of the flesh of another betrayer that I have tracked down.
In the end I held six blood tipped wooden shards. My now unrecognizable face leaked blood as I found the strength to stand. I clenched my fist around these six mementos of my betrayal, my only possession, vowed to return each piece to each betrayer and started walking down the path to revenge..." 'The Path to Revenge Picture by Baske, caption by Elrich | | Most of the blood on my face had dried, and I was thus unable to wipe it off. I took the cloth of a dead priest, I was aware of the blasphemy, but I lacked power to take off armour of the dead warriors. Plus, if I were to take revenge on the man responsible for this a shiny armour would attract to much attention. I stumbled through the field of dead men. The scent of fresh corpses pierced through my veins and right into my heart. As I continued my path I constantly was confronted with flashes of the fight, I was slowly regaining some of my lost memory. In the distance I saw 2 people, a man and a woman. The man was close to vomiting and had burst in tears after the sight of a decapitated boy in armour. They might be willing to treat me, or they might stab me to death... First sight of life by Baske | | "They might be alive, it would maybe be better for them to die. These people had to suffer too much, even so much they couldn't talk. The only thing they muttered were: "My son... Why lord, why..." When I asked them something about the evil that did this, they did nothing then point, point to a hill. I was confused. Why would they send me to a hill... Was it because I might be able to see the army marching on? On my last powers I stumbled upwards and when I reached the top, my stomach hurt." Cliffs of Death by TBK145 | | Watching the father cry over his boy made me feel a tiny bit of sympathy, even in my broken state. Then a memory flashed past me. I remembered who I was. The child reminded me of my past, I was always a fighter, while my sister spend all day locked in her tower calculating. When I signed up to become a pirate, we never saw each other again. But my ship mates betrayed me. I knew I had to go to The Pirate's Guild. I would be recognised as Captain Orion. Those shipmates were still out there, and they will die for their betrayal. Maybe if I could find my sister she could help? I walked towards the father and mother of the boy to ask for help... A flash of realisation by Yeebaagooon | | I told them that If I helped them, I would get revenge on the evil that did this to their son. Sadly, they agreed to help. They organised a cart for me to travel to the great city of Alexandria on. I had never heard of the city, but they insisted it was very large and I could obtain a boat there. The ride was long and bumpy, but at last, I arrived at Alexandria. The city was amazing, incredibly large in life and complexity and beauty. But where was I to find the boat... Alexandria by Alyssea | | ... was a mystery. I journeyed to the dock section, and asked many people for a ride. Only one man, Refarsti - a Thracian- offered his fishing vessel to my service. He told me was a legendary swordsman, but retired for the quiet life. He then got bored of that, and needed adventure. We boarded his little dingy, and set sail past the Great Lighthouse. What a sight. But once we rounded the island, we came up against unsuspected trouble. Obviously, the person I wanted dead was wanted alive by someone else. I foolishly thought that I was still a pirate in a grand vessel, so I screamed at Refarsti, "Charge!". Only then I realised my mistake, but it was too late... Setting sail by Hygraffo | | ...the pirates closed in upon us, and Refarsti jumped overboard and swam towards the shore. I, foolishly, tried to hold my own against the pirates, but being still weak from the battle I was capture easily. The pirates brought me back to one of their ships, on which they stuck me in the hold. There I stayed for 3 days, every now and then having food thrown down the stairs, and having to find my own water. Eventually the boat came to a halt and I was brought out, blinking, into the bright sunshine. It seemed they had brought me back to their hometown, a town run by pirates. There, in the middle of the village, was a weird construction, a slab of granite on its side. A second look confirmed my worst fears, I was to be executed to the gods of these pirates. Looking around I spotted the one thing that would give me a chance to get away.....
In the Pirates Base by Azur_fire | | I had no strength, no weapon, and no money, so I traded my life for a secret. I knew of Kaross's greed, so I knew that he'd let me go free in exchange for the location of my buried hoarde. It did not bother me that I had no buried hoarde, because I did not expect to be alive by the time Kaross found out. I did not expect Kaross to be alive either. Although he set me loose into the streets of Alexandria, I knew that when a pirate grants someone freedom, it means they'll be found dead in a ditch by dawn; it was how I used to operate, and surely it was the same for Kaross. I yearned for vengeance, but I had no means of achieving it. All I possessed were the 6 bloody wooden shards now clenched in my hand. As night fell over Alexandria, I sank back against the wall of a dark alley. I was tired, weak, hungry, helpless, and above all, alone. Nightfall by HailToTheOboe | | That small moment of contemplation was broken, I noticed a squad of people running towards me. They carried the insignia on their shields, a symbol I know too well. I've seen what it does to people, what it destroys. I had only one option: run. It was early morning, the population began to slither onto the streets, though some managed to get in my way, without warning, more squads approached from the streets, I didn't know where to go, but then I saw it: the sewers, with all of it's complex twists and turns, it would be easy to lose them, little did I know, I was in for a big discovery.... The Chase by Firefax | | "I could jump into this sewer, but I would either break every single bone in my body or would sustain enough damage I wouldn't be able to walk anymore. The two minute adrenaline pump was over, and the pain of my wounds was kicking in harder than before.I could no longer run. I had to think of something, I had taken a turn into the city slums, and next to me were three seemingly battle hardened guys. What did I have to offer to get them to help me out right here, right now? I had to think quickly, as the soldiers were approaching rapidly..."
Desperation by Baske | | "Before I could think, a long arm reached out from behind the three surly men and pulled me into the shadows. The pirate that had properly tracked me through the twists and turns of the city slums tried to follow me but these brutes quickly knocked him to the ground. The pirate knew that was the first and last warning he would receive and backed away knowing that he had no power here in the dark slums of the city. With the immediate threat now in the past I turned to my savior. Refarsti put his hand on my shoulder: "I've been waiting for you to get away from those pirates for days now. What took you so long?" "I thought you died at the lighthouse." "I knew that if I jumped overboard they would only capture you being so defenseless. If I stayed to fight, then we'd both be dead and I wouldn't be rescuing you now would I?" I couldn't dispute his logic "Now, scarred-man, let's get to this business of revenge. My people here in these slums want a piece of this adventure too." Return of Refarsti by Elrich | | "I stared into his eyes, wondering if his friendship towards me was dependant on their inclusion. But it did not matter. I then said something I would soon regret. I told them that they could not; that I had dealt with their kind before. Before I even knew what was happening I felt a cold force wash through me. I felt as though I had broken the only code I had. But I knew it was too late to make amends." Alea iacta est by Koramei | | The guards overpowered me in my weakened state and marched me off to court to face justice. They said I would have to explain to the judge why I was in this city, and explain my outburst to him or I would face death by impalement. They led me up the sandy roads into The High Court. When I got in the judge walked in and everyone stood up. But I flinched when I saw who it was. Commodore Ark Sool, one of the people who betrayed me. Would he recognise me? The High Court by Yeebaagooon | | There I was, in the judge. Commodore Ark Sool looked at me and laughed. I knew that I couldn't win this. I was lost. Step by step I got nearer to Commodore Ark Sool. I heard a noise from the balcony, and looked at it. There I saw him: Kaross. He made me a signal to be quiet. I didn't know what to think. Is he going to save me or to help killing me?
Kaross's returnby Gamerrici | | "My hands were bound to a metal pole in the middle of a large slab of stone on which i stood. It was surrounded by iron bars. The judge stood before me on a heightened platform, a pedestal in front of him. Several priests and law officials stood nearby with scrolls and books.Kaross watched intently from the spectator's area as the trial began. It went by fast, seeing as i had no way of defending myself. I was pronounced guilty and sentenced to be killed by impalement. Kaross turned and walked out, several other men following him. Commodore Ark Sool gloated at me as i was led by heavily armed guards out of the courtroom. We walked down several hallways and corridors until we reached the dungeons, where i was thrown into a small, damp cell to await my execution the following morning. As i lay there in the dark contemplating my upcoming de4th,i heard a commotion outside. There was a sharp yell, which was instantly cut short. There were some whispers, and i heard heavy footsteps. I stood to see who it was, and there stood Kaross. I was relieved at first to see a fellow pirate. But then he pointed his sword at me, saying in a harsh voice," You have much explaining to do, scarred man." I was confused." Someone else, by the name of Arciatross, learned of my plans to seek out your treasure, and now he has laid waste to my ships and killed half my men. You are lucky he didn't find out the hoard's location .Now tell me, before i kill you now, what is so important about your treasure that the most fearsome pirate in all of the Mediterranean has become my enemy because of it?!?!" I was stunned, mostly because i didn't even have a treasure hoard. Why would the most infamous pirate in the known world be so interested in a treasure that didn't even exist, much less one that belonged to me? But there was no time to think about it,i had to think of an answer for Kaross, and quickly...
A Seemingly Harmless Lie by Lazy_Warhero | | "I was in great trouble. I could say it didn't exist or I could say I would help him. Eventually I would end up dead. But I had no more time, the guards were coming to bring me to the execution. I whispered to Karros: "Save me, and I'll talk."" Scheduled for Execution by TBK145 | | Commodore Ark Sool gloated at me from his seat high up in a balcony as two armed men led me to the executioner. There were guards everywhere. How was Kaross going to save me? Then I looked closer at the guards on either side of me. They were the people from the slums! I heard a scream and looked up. Refarsti had decapitated Ark Sool and the guards who were protecting him. The two men from the slums suddenly attacked the executioner. Soon the entire room was a mass of blood and corpses. Once the massacre was over, I asked Refarsti why he helped me. He laughed and said, "I wanted some adventure, scarred-man. You wouldn't give it to me, but your friend Kaross here was more than willing to accept my services."
Refarsti Returns (Again) by TartarianCerberus | | Kaross gathered up a band of his men, including Refarsti and told me to once again tell him why such an infamous pirate would be after my treasure. I, of course, spun a tail of incredible jewels and riches that I had plundered during my days as a pirate, and even included a magic lamp, saying that this was probably what the might pirate was after. Of course these tails only served to increase Karaoss' lust after my so called treasure, one which i hoped would lead him away from me. No such luck; however, and he told me to accompany him to a nearby port city where his ship was. As we wandered through a forest Refarsti and I were talking amiably and I was wondering whether I should confide in him when I noticed that Kaross had disappeared... Refarsti and I have a little talk in the woods by Azur_fire | | "Where the hell has that blasted pirate gone?" Refarsti and I scanned our surroundings. "He couldn't have gone far. Come. Let us search." As we searched through the lonely Egyptian desert, a screech bellowed through the woods. Than another, and another, until finally, a loud scream ended the cycle. "That way!" Refarsti and I kept running the in direction of the sound through the trees and rocks until we came to a dead end. "I could have swore it came from here..." "Over there!" Refarsti pointed towards the side of the cliff. There he was, Kaross, and he wasn't alone... Kaross found by Legendbladex | | The monsters continued to attack Kaross, as he began to scream in flashes of pain as they ripped through him. Refarsti began to stand, a look of anguish flashed through his face. "Do you know what this man stood for? I said, wondering at the reason for his action." He replied, "Indeed I do. But even a man such as Kaross deserves not a fate like this. I cannot say we all are innocent. How would you feel, to die in this way?" "Very well." As we hurried down to them, the creatures broke from their fight and looked at us. They then seemed to mysteriously back down, and vanished from the scene. I looked down at Kaross. Surely he could not survive these attacks. "It's you.." Kaross croaked. "Have you come to offer me the location for this treasure, now?" "I wonder how you could think of such a thing at a time like this." "Ha! So what have you come here for then? To beat a dying man? I would have thought better of you. But perhaps you would be wise to think again of those you trust. You're all human, after all..." "What do you mean by that?" "Oh.. I think you understood me perfectly clearly." "Refarsti! Nobody deserves to have to hear this blabber! Let's put him out of his misery!" "Refarsti? Where are you?" Only silence replied to my calls. Then, at a final attempt to redeem himself, Kaross spoke. "You.. must..."
And then, with a long pause, Kaross was dead. But it wasn't over yet. And then suddenly, I felt cold iron accross my neck. "Perhaps you should have listened to him."
Kaross is Dead by Koramei | | I stood there, Refarsti's axe was ready to sever my head at the slightest motion. The leaves rustled, they too had the insignia I have seen so many times. "You see, your betrayers knew that you would seek vengeance on them, so they sent me to trick you and lead you here!". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Suddenly the sand started blowing in different direction, something large was approaching in the distance...
Betrayal by FireFax | | pretty soon identified the two soft blows I heard in the distance, a sound familiar to any warrior at sea. The sound of raging cannon fire, and in the sky I saw a huge fiery ball coming right at me. This was my one and only chance, I had to get away. In a split second I....
Death from above by Baske | | "... tore away from Refartsi's grasp and lunged away. Refartsi stood in shock as the flaming ball smashed him into the ground. There laid Refartsi's motionless body, his face still with a look of horror on it, the ground completely burned around him. I stared at the men coming out of the boats as the cannons kept firing. They wore the same head-dress as Kaross. And it was obvious, whoever they were, they weren't on mine, nor Refartsi's side. "They're here..." one of the men said. " The End of Refartsi by OmegasRage | | I dove behind some bushes where I hoped the two armies would not find me. I saw a man who wore the same strange garments as Kaross step forward. It seemed like he was consulting with the men I saw earlier. I crept closer to try to overhear what they were saying, when suddenly a woman and two guards walked up to the Kaross look-alike and his men. "Tell me where the treasure is!" the woman demanded. "My sources say that you know where it is."
"Your sources were wrong. I have no idea where it is." The Kaross look-alike responded. "Our leader was the only one who knew that, and you have already taken care of him."
"Lies!" The woman yelled before striking him with her staff. The Kaross look-alike yelped in pain.
"You will never get the treasure before us," the Kaross look-alike snarled back. The woman shouted in anger and attacked the Kaross look-alike, killing him almost instantly. The two men the Kaross-look alike had with him looked at each other hesitantly. "What are you waiting for? Tell me where the treasure is, unless you want to face the wrath of Captain Acteon?" Acteon... he was my traitorous quartermaster who instigated the mutiny against me...I crept even closer to the woman, hoping to discover where Acteon was so I could get my revenge. But then it hit me - I knew who that woman was. She was my sister.
An Unexpected Appearance by TartarianCerberus | | "But you just killed our master. We must regroup and I'm not sure if anyone else shared his secret." Realizing that killing Kaross and Refarsti could have meant burying the information she needed, she decided to make it their problem: "Tell your new leader that they have until sundown to give up the location of the treasure or face annihilation at the hands of captain Acteon. Go Now!" She shoved her bladed staff at the men and they fled back through the jungle falling over themselves in panic. Once the men had disappeared into the foliage, she let her guard down. "How can I get the treasure now? Acteon will kill me if I don't bring back any new information." I knew this was my chance to talk to her: "Seshafi......Seshafi....." I whispered carefully to my sister. Immediately she snapped back into guard position. "Who said that? How could...." I stepped out of the bushes into view. Her warrior reflexes had her weapon aimed at me with lightning speed. "How do you know that name, scarred one?" she demanded "only a few people know and they are all dead" "Not all of us.......sister" "No, it can't be..Acteon told me you were dead." But hearing the voice she hadn't heard since she was a small girl convinced her. She dropped her staff and shield and embraced me then after a moment she shoved me back in anger: "How could you leave us? Why did you just go run off and become a pirate? To be killed like our father was? Ever since mother died I have been trying to find you. I, too have become powerful in the pirate world. Now tell me, do you remember that song that father used to sing to you as a child?" I thought it a strange twist in her conversation: "Why do you ask?" "Because, it was not just a song. Father hid the location of the legendary treasure in the verses. He passed it on to you before he was murdered so that you could find it one day. Tell me the words.." If only I could remember............ Family Treasure by Elrich | | The first thing I could remember was "In our house". I told that to my sister, and then we went to our old House. "As you can see, our House is still here, with not much damage." I looked around and saw that Waterfall, ending in a little lake. The lake was...different. It shined in a special light. I was about to ask my sister why it was so, as she suddenly said "as you can see the lake and the waterfall dried up." That sentence surprised me. But then, after a moment, most was explained. Maybe they knew it, maybe they knew that only I could see it. And maybe because of that they let me alive...
After some time in our house, I remembered another sentence of the song. "...where you live with your family. But even those you can't trust..."
Mysterious Water by Gamerrici | | My head started to swim. I fell down onto the ground, groaning in pain. Then I blacked out, but I could still see. But, it seemed... strange. Then it hit me, these were memories. I saw my family when I was seven. My father was a a good man, but we were constantly out of money. He forced me to go out into one of the nearby towns to beg, or theive, and he did the same. My sister always was told to stay behind and fish, yet she mainly stayed on the waterfall, calling it "Her Tower". I remembered where we lived. The south coast of Cyprus. I remembered my dad making friends with some "Chinese". Then I remembered my father's name. It was Yheu. Then my life seemed to fast-forward to just before the battle. It was against a tribe, something that seemed easy. They were called the Zulu. Just before the battle, I lined up my officers and spoke to them. I said, "Acteon, Ark Sool, Arciatross, Orchav, Trelsav and Wral, you are the best warriors from every corner of the world. I trust that you will lead this 312 pirate crew to victory against an insignificant tribe guarding a significant piece of land!" They laughed, and we prepared to march to battle. Everyone drew their scimitars, and we charged. Then, I felt something smash my head. I awoke to see a battlefield in carnage, with blood over me. Then, my eyes snapped open. Seshafi was looking down on me, and helped me up. "Are you alright?" she asked, concerned. Oh, if only she knew...
Fate and Fortune by Hygraffo | | We decided to go into the house, so the sun couldn't bother my head anymore. I sat down on an old chair and wanted to figure out the next line of the song, but it seemed to be locked into a chest in the edge of my head and every time I tried to put the key into it, I got tossed further away. I hid my face in my hands despairingly, while my sisters growing impatience seemed to make her care for me vanish. "Can't you remember anything at all?", she ask with sharpness in her voice. I stood up and went to the window, hoping the sky would have an answer for me. "It is so long ago...So many things happend since then..." Before I could continue explaining myself, Seshafi rushed towards me in anger and grabbed my back, willing to shake the song out of me verse by verse. "I have no time left, your lack of memory will cost me my head! You MUST remember!" Suddenly I lost the rest of my strenght and before Seshafi realized what was happening, I fell out of the window, heading for the bizarre shine on the ground of the lake... A fall into the unknown by Nightfever | | As the distance from the ground and me decreased, the mysterious light grew brighter with every second. "I'm going to die," I thought. I shut my eyes tight and hoped for a silent, and painless death, when a strange tingle went through my feet. I opened my eyes slowly, and looked down. Standing on the water, I stared in awe, but what was more amazing, was that the glowing was gone to. All was left was a large, slab of stone, with strange writings on it, surrounded by bright green vegetation. Without thinking, I ran towards the stone.
Untitled by LegendBladex | | When I got to the mysterious stone, I could see that it was a old writing stone.. People had used them to put important secrets on. I never saw this.. I got closer..closer.. to the mysterious tablet, right as I touched it with my dry hands, I seemed t be sucked out of a seemed to be dream, my sister's familiar face looking down at me in a mourned fashion. "Speak to me brother! Speak to me Damnation! Speak!" I could feel her tears drop on my face.. then I heard a familiar sound.. "Quickly men, be swift! This is the place I told you about.. Don't touch ANYTHING! These places are not always human.." I shot my head up without thinking and whacked my head against my unfortunate sister's nose.. "Aghh! You fool, get up! we have visitors!" I saw the enemy spring up in a superstitious way, then they saw us..
A Unexpected Encounter! by SurvivorFo | | "'We have no need for anymore enemies right now', I muttered to my sister. 'I doubt we can avoid it...' She muttered back. 'You! You are the famous general Orion are you not?' Their leader shouted to me. 'What concern is it to you?' I replied. 'So it is you! My master, it is so good to see you again! We thought you had been lost in that battle.' I was curious as to who this man and his followers were, but I was relieved to not have another enemy. Even so, he could not be trusted, and I could not have someone burdening me on my journey. 'I am sorry, but I cannot take anymore people as friends . I have had some.. bad.. experiences.' I replied to them. 'Then take us as reinforcements. It would appear you'll be needing some.' 'Is that a threat?' I glared at the man. However, it would seem he was right. I heard a shout from the distance behind me. 'Orion! It is good to see you are alive!' I would not reply so fondly. 'Trelsav? My general? One of the generals that betrayed me? Thatleft me for dead as I crawled out of the hole of my death?' 'Orion... my good man.. it would seem you have recovered your memory more... swiftly... than we would have liked. A shame..Archers! Fire! Attack!'
"Here we go again" by Koramei | | The men behind us yelled and ran forward. We turned and ran toward them, desperate to reach the cover of their shields. The massive wave of arrows made a great arch in the sky, blotting out the sun and casting an imposing shadow over the ground. Just as we were about to get to relative safety they came raining down. Everything seemed to slow down as the speeding projectiles of de4th struck the ground all around me. One whizzed right passed my face, tearing a hole through my hood, while another glanced off my sword hilt, a few inches from my hand. My sister cried out in pain as an arrow impaled her leg. As we reached our protectors they held their shields in the air, blocking most of the arrows. We waited till the thumping stopped, then peeked out. What i saw finalized my theory of me dying here where I stood. A huge wave of cavalry baring down on us,lead by a man i recognized as captain Orchav. Me and my new-found friends were in for one hell of a fight. Brace for Impact by LazyWarhero | | "We were greatly outnumbered. I knew that I had no chance of getting out of this battle alive. But I wouldn't go down without a fight. I was going to kill Orchav and Treslav no matter what. Bloodlust by TartarianCerberus | | The cavalry neared. I remembered the words of my captain, just before the Battle which took my memory. "If you ever need me sir, or the Pirates' Guild, fire a flaming arrow into the sky. We will come." I order the archer in our group to fall behind us and fire an arrow into the sky. He looked bewildered, but obeyed. I braced for the impact, whincing at my arm. Time seemed to slow down, then the cavalry hit.
Calm before the Storm by Hygraffo | | My men were braced for the impact of the cavalry. They held their ground and steadied their weapons and one by one the enemies fell off of their steeds and parished. The corpses of soldiers and horses soon lined our battlefront. I wondered how on earth such few of us were holding our ground against such a large army. I looked around and behind me to see the glints of gold armor. Help had come. My men fought with a new found courage against the oncoming force. I searched desperately for Treslav or Orchav in the lines of red troops. Then I heard the sound of my sister crying out in sheer agony. I turned to see Orchav thrusting his lance in to her stomach. Blinded with rage, I charged at him. Nothing else mattered but him falling to my blade.
Redemption by NitroTractor | | "Lunging in a blind rage toward him, the battle seemed to go out of focus; all I could see, all I could hear, was Orchav as he galloped towards me, lance lowered for the kill. His lance came within a foot of my face, and seemed to stop, as if his movements were lagged in time. I swept my sword to the side, shattering his shaft, sending a shower of splinters over the battlefield. Orchav thrown off balance, he dived from his steed landing ungracefully on the gritty sand below. I snatched a broken splinter from his lance and bearing upon him, plunged it into the pulp of his eye. My adrenaline fading, I could do nothing as his horse crumpled upon me, and the dead betrayer. I was slowly losing conciousness..."
Orchav's Demise by PurpleWorm | | "As my consciousness and the sounds of battle faded, I began to dream. Seshafi and I were once again mischievous children. She had stolen a horse and pulled me onto its back and we were racing through the forests of our childhood. I was awash in the warm feelings of my youth. "Do you remember all the good times we had playing around the waterfall?" Seshafi reminisced and then, if by magic, our horse passed by the waterfall. To my surprise emerging from behind the watery veil was father. He was looking guilty as if he had just hid something and was looking around to make sure no one saw him. "Did you see that, Seshafi? Did you see father?........Seshafi?" Her grip from behind me loosened. "I have to go now, brother....I love you." and her fingers released. I rushed to consciousness and as the sounds of harsh reality returned, I found myself on top of Orchav's white steed. The smoke of the battlefield was far in the distance behind me and my sister, her body spent, lay lifeless in the sand. The dream had ended...." Her Final Act by Elrich | | The horse stopped near a great river, and I awoke. The reality hit me that my sister was dead. With the strength I had, I carried her over to the river and threw her in. I watched as she fell lifelessly to the bottom and the undercurrent began to drag her towards the waterfall. Then, in the evening Sun, I saw something refract from the water, and it caught my eye. I dived in after her, battling with the currents. I saw it was her necklace, I grabbed it and kicked for the surface. When I took my first breath of fresh air, it dawned on me. THIS had been the treasure that my father had meant! His eyepatch. This eyepatch would make me look like a true legend of the pirate world, and would allow me to enter The Grand Temple of 'Fluffy McYaar' - the most feared and brutal pirate this world has ever seen, and owner of the fastest ship ever to sail the seven seas, 'The Flying Englishman'. It was so ironic that my sister had had it all this time. According to his law, mutiny would lead to death by impalement, so I decided to tell him my story and see his reaction. With one last look at my sister flying into the gorge below, I set off again on Orchav's horse. The Treasure by Yeebaagooon | | The loss of my sister hit me hard. I was angry, determined to lash out at the nearest thing, man, women, or beast. I then realised that my bout of unconciousness had made me halucinate. There was no eye-patch. There was no Fluffy McYarr. All I held in my hand was my sister's sword, with words engraved on the blade. They read: In a land ever so far away, Beyond two wide oceans bright and with a strange hue, There lies a mighty treasure, Sky red and blood blue.
The fool who tries to search, Is rewarded with slow death, The treasure for all eternity shall sleep, The golden land where I drew my last breath.
The word's seemed familiar, but so alien. I slashed at the nearest tree with my sword. Blood started to creep into my eyes from anger, and I began to see the world in a tinge of red. I stared over the edge of the water-fall. Soldiers. By the shouting and pointing at me with weapons, I assumed they were here to capture me. I grinned. Something to hit and take my anger out on. I'm outnumbered almost ten-to-one, and I was tired, hungry, and felt ready to drop. The fools didn't stand a chance. Ryhmes and Crimes by Hygraffo | | "One by one, I slashed through them, ending their pitifull lives. One by one, those that hadn't been killed turned and ran, never glancing behind them as they dashed into the jungle. Ha. They probably thought that I was some idle desert wanderer, an easy target for low life bandits. Someone that would present no challenge to them. They were wrong. I was Orion."
Fools by Koramei | Random 'Still Somewhat Related to the Story' Section Note: NOT important for the story | "Just before I wanted to tell her the story another flashback struck me. It was just before the battle that had cost so many lifes. I was wandering through the dark streets of my hometown, on my way to the place we agreed. There we were going to make the final pieces of our plan to final destroy our arch-enemy, Rahi. Suddenly I heared someone begging. "Please, spare my family, I'll do everything to help you." I duck behind a crate and realized it was my father. He was talking to someone I could not see, but one look at his spear made me realize who it was. Rahi was talking to my father. "I will spare your miserable life. If you help me killing your son and it's entire army." Then it all turned black." Sinister plots by TBK145 |
