so, the thing is, i have a trigger that only works properly under the cheat 'LETS GO! NOW!'

Conditions:
Army is dead
Effects:
Grant Resources (3)
(Counter; add timer
name; countdown
start; 90
stop; 0
message; time until next wave
trigger; none)
(sound timer;
milliseconds; 90000
trigger; trigger 2)
fire event; trigger 2
Trigger 2
Conditions:
Timer ms
milliseconds; 90000
Effects:
Army move
Send chat
trigger 2's effects happen very quickly after trigger 1 when under the cheat, but trigger 2 takes far, far, far longer to act without the cheat, as if trigger one are two are independent of each other.
any idea why this is happening / how I can fix it?

yeah, that does make sense. I thought that counter: add timer only had a visual effect, probably because i used it incorrectly to begin with. I also thought for some reason that both timers would run simultaneously, and they both needed to have the ninety seconds the cross-reference. Then the fire event was just a desperate attempt to make it all work, although i thought it should work without it. I thought i just needed an outside viewpoint to point out the obvious, so thanks for that. now i can see it, my triggering for that was terrible!
