Ok I added a new music file into the music directory in the fight folder and I removed all the other files already in there hoping that it would only play the music I put in, but for some reason it won't play anything at all. Can someone help?

I intended to do it for a scenario, how do you do it?

Since this thread is relevant, is it possible to add your own music in the AOM music folder? I mean adding music for the whole game.

I was trying to put in the LotR music for a map I was working on, but when the music came on it slowed down the framerate a fair bit. Is this because the mp3 is too large? Would a WAV file work any better? I've got a pretty decent computer, so that should be much of a problem.

Yeah I was doing the exact same thing. I was making a remake of the battle of Helm's Deep, but when I got the music to work, it really slowed down the game, so I took out the music.

I have'nt tried it in this game, but in another rts,I made a
musical score with mp3 and it slowed it down big time. I converted to wav and it cleared it up pretty well. You might just wanna give it shot.
