Hi, obviously, im new here; I've been to this and tried to learn scripting, but it's to complicated. Now, im trying to mod. I have photoshop adobe 6.0 and I got some tutorials, but i wanted to ask a few questions: 1)How can you tell which part of the body is which after you convert teh file so that you can edit it? Do you just guess? 2)after you finish editing, your suposed to replace the new edited file with the original in the aom/textures folder or are you suposed to edit the original one in the first place??? These questions may seem stupid, I just really need lots of help.. as i mentioned , im a newb

Back on topic...
1) You make an educated guess, based on what's already on the texture. If the Anubite's texture has its head right there, then anything you paint onto that area will go onto its head. Save different versions so you can always go back if you screw up.
2) Convert the texture file back to .ddt format using AOMed, and put it in [main AoM directory]\textures. Then it will override the original texture that's in the .bar archive.

1) You mean the shadow? I believe the shadows are all in .ddt files; not sure which ones though.
2) The naming scheme for texture files goes something like this:
[type of unit] [civ] [unit name].ddt
Where "type of unit" is "building" (for buildings), "special" (for myth units), and so on. "civ" is a letter representing the civ; g for Greek, e for Eggy, n for Norse.
And for model files:
[type of unit] [civ] [unit name]_[state].brg
Where "state" is something like "[action][letter]" - "action" being "idle", "walk", "bored", "fly", "die", etc. and "letter" being a, b, c, etc.; the second idle animation (if any) would be "idleb", and the third would be "idlec".

Oh, right. Yes, you can, although it seems to be a little buggy; I couldn't get it to work consistently.
