the model can't just have a texture without any materials, it can't just be a model and have textures if there's no texture file to go on it.
ok i'll get up off my arse and do a bigarse search in the folder for the scythe texture...
well, found nothing. this might mean that the scythe model uses an axe texture, but is UV'd on the scythe instead. time to do a GMAX Mat.Nav. texture file looking-at and see if that tells you the material names that go with the scythe...
well what do we have here, the name of the mtrl is AttachmentsAxe. would ya look at that! so, what do we need to do?
find the axe texture that matches this one, because there are a lot of axe textures! let's put all the axe textures in one folder and do a quickie bulk conversion with AoMED...
the texture that matches the thumbnail of the mtrl in gmax and the name of the scythe texture is...
