I'm assuming you want to create a button that will echo a questvar to everyone once clicked on. If this is a purely RMS/Scenario discussion then what I'm saying won't apply.
I deal with UI modding in aoe3 (see twitch link in sig for the work I'm proudest of), but if the same rules apply to UI modding in AoM, then you cannot actually use tr, rm, xs etc commands in the UI, at least directly, in the first place. Just like how rm commands won't work in tr script.
The best that you can do is probably use the
trackInsert;trackAddWaypoint;trackPlay(-1,<eventid>)
method discovered by someone a few years ago (nottud?) to fire events, in conjunction with trEventSetHandler(<eventID>,<eventHandler>)
, but if this UI is meant to be used together with any standalone scenario then unfortunately this would not help with your question.
Retired content creator. Experience in custom triggers, xs injection, UI modding, aoe3 in general. I'll probably be back for AoE3: DE if they lack a good observer mode.
The work I'm proudest of:
An advanced observer mode for AoE3 made entirely from a combination of UI modding and xs injection
