Yeah, I... You know, that is so simple it barely counts as a "mod". More of a "What if". But yeah. What if we had Elephant Archers on this game? Would it be a good idea? How should we go about it?
So, the obvious civilization to give it to would be the Egyptians, the civilization who has War Elephants to begin with. A Elephant Archer should have less health then the War Elephant, but still be bulkier then almost every other cavalry or archer in the game( 300 HP, maybe? ). It should be applies by Thoth elephant-boosting technology, naturally, and its attack should probably be 10 pierce and 10 crush. It should have the War Elephant armor ratings, though, particularly the pierce armor
Through most of the other games of the series, the Elephant Archer was always a kind of bizarre unit: It is a cavalry archer that is the exact opposite of what cavalry archers are suppose to be, being incredibly bulky but durable. That usually makes it rather gimmicky to use, though unfortunatelly, it doesnt actually get to see much-Use-On the other two games. Still, I can think of plenty of weird, gimmicky strategies that could be ( Theorically ) used with it. For one, it would be one of the few archers to be actually usefull for siege: For two, with 300 base HP and 50% base pierce armor, it would be arguably a better anti-archer unit then the Slinger: And for three, it would be one of the few kinds of archer to be able to use itself as a meatshield( Though that would be a... Risky, tactic at best. ). So, what do you have to say? Would it be a good idea? Would you use the Elephant Archer, if he was on this game? Would you go differently about implementing it?
