Hello,
Today, I discovered a very suprising fact. I have AOMEE, and my friend's computer can't support it, so he still plays on AOMTT. I thought the games were not compatible, due to a lot of reasons (HD, exclusive content, Steam platform), but even if we can't play together, the games detect each other when we create a LAN game. Obviously, when we try to join the host's game, we have an error code, but I suspect that a mod or an handling could break this limit, and let us play together. I obviously knows that I must not play chinese civilization, nor play its maps, nor put a Day/Night cycle, etc... But if I avoid all this, I think a game can be possible though.
So, do you know a mod or a handling that can do that ? Or does it is possible to make one ?
Thank you in advance ! : )

I'm surprised you were even able to get the stage of being able to join a game hosted on another version. EE will not let you play together if you have different data files so you could try using the same files. I'm not sure about the complete list but you would absolutely need the same proto, techtree, soundset, unittransform, and probably others. And we're not just talking renaming some files, we're talking identical copies or you won't be able to play together even if you both had EE. I would recommend using your friend's TT files since trying to run EE files on the disk version could give bad results.
This is just a suggestion, I'm not sure it will work even if you do use the same files or how EE will handle it.
