Hello all. It is my first post here in AoM heaven. I used to be active in Heaven Forums when AoE3 was a thing and AoE:Online (grrr!) came out.
I recently got the AoM:EE with the ToD expansion, just only to get the new civ because I still have installed my AoE:TT gold.
The first thing I noticed is that the original game scrolled the map way smoother and quicker than the AoM:EE. I eventually switched all graphics settings off but still it is losing in comparison.
While I can live with that and hope that getting a better PC would improve the thing, there are some graphical issues that have made me browse a lot to not get any satisfying explanation. At first I think they were graphical bugs or glitches but the more I searched, the more I think they're related to the remade models.
I am going to put the examples with itches me a lot.
1) Manticore's tail
This is what I get in my AoM/AoM:TT and also available as an internet image in the wiki.
It has a brownish, smooth spiky tail.
While this is the current look of the manticore's tail in AoE:EE
As you may see, it is a darker and coarse version which looks like having a glitch or an issue of transparency or whatever conflict with graphic card. The fact that I casually find the same images I get in my PC for both cases makes me wonder if it is a problem of the video card or it is due to the model itself.
2) Slingers' stones:
But the worst thing are the slinger and troll stones. In the original game they were tiny projectiles, accurately scaled to what they should be. See example in this youtube video

However noticeably the slingers of AoM:EE throw visible bricks which look very anomalous as if they were a graphical bug:

Not only they are larger, but darker and slower it seems. At first I think I got a graphical bug in my PC but after I checked those videos I realized it was something with the model itself.
The settings not even ameliorate this effect.
Am I the only one to notice this and to complain about? Am I getting old to complain about details like these?
And then my question. I have a reasonable experience modding some games but I haven't worked with AoM. Is it feasible to replace the models with the originals to get them as in the image and video above? If so, what would it be the procedure I need to follow?
Thanks for reading. I am happy that the community still bears alive one of the finest RTS made ever.
