1. Mobile Ox-cart gather points
2. Infantry build
So, I was wondering whether it was feasible to injure the Norse economy by attacking what are supposed to be his weakest link: the ox-carts, which as everyone knows have far fewer HP than buildings. Does a Greek or Egyptian have the option to sneak a few Hipps or Spears into enemy territory, Here's what bothers me: I think the answer is "no." Consider ... 1. Oxen cost 50W + 50F (exc. Loki), the same as one vil plus one granary/storage. No great advantage, no great disadvantage. 2. Oxen train 3. Most importantly ... Oxen have fewer base HP than buildings, but they have a My point is that in theory, the "weak" ox-cart is supposed to be the Norse weakness that balances out their civ's strong economic advantages, but in practice I argue that this theoretical vulnerability is As Norse, when are your carts ever threatened? Usually, when you're already losing. You're not likely to have spears or Hipps harassing your economy and carts unless you've done a poor job putting him on the defensive with rush tactics. As Greek/Egyptian, when do you get a chance to attack carts? Most often, only after the threat of the forward base has been neutralized. IMHO, the "weak" carts should be made sincerely weak, so that they might actually be a vulnerability that a few Hipps or spears could exploit ... particularly Hippokons. Egyptians spears are defensive in nature, but a few Hipps really 1. Reduce their armor (30/40, I think), which is huge, and either All three of those would, I think, be too much, especially for Loki. Personally I'd opt for 1 + 2. Carts don't need to be Please, discuss. -BSR [This message has been edited by BSR (edited 02-18-2003 @ 01:37 PM).]
2. Reduce their movement to about 2.0 (plenty to function as a mobile gather point),
3. Reduce their HP (180).
