There are a lot of people that don't like smurfing, and think that it ruins the game. Then there are others that say relax, learn from it, or just take your whooping and go on to the next game. I'm kind of in the middle. I think it's messing up the quickstart rated games, especially 2v2(you can tell the smurfs by both players having the same exact score), but I don't get all bent out of shape about it.
However, since there are a lot of people that are saying its ruining the game for them, it becomes important, even to those that aren't bothered by the smurfing.
I think the state of the AOM community is important, both in bringing in new players, and keeping the ones we have. I don't see as many players on ESO as I used to and this bothers me since AOM is a great game. I want to see it do well, and I want a large and growing commmunity of players supporting it. Smurfing is a problem if there are a lot of people out there that think it's a problem. That makes it everybody's problem, or at least those that care about AOM.
Arguing that it isn't a problem isn't the solution, no matter what your actual opinion is. We should be trying to fix smurfing so that everybody, including those who smurf, are satisfied. I can't believe that this is an unsolvable issue.
