One of the strengths of the minimap & FOW map is that vs Eggy/Greek, you can send a few scouts over predefined paths to record every building they see on both maps. Against Atlantis or Norse however, scouting adds nothing useful whatsoever to either map. Seems like the Norse and Atlantean players have the most effective economic defense of all: uncertainty. As Eggy or Hades, I'd take uncertainty over towers any day.
With the amount of micromanagement needed to constantly watch the minimap as your scouts ply their trade, and the speed/hp of Atlnatean villagers, you are lucky if you can successfully kill one citizen before heroic.
I propose that minimap/FOW maps record information about villager camps regardless of which nation is being scouted. Oxcarts/donkeys should appear on the map; alternatively, grayed-out peasants or some kind of symbol indicating wood/gold/food/whatever would go a long way toward balancing out what appears to be an unintended yet important bonus for the Norse/Atlantean civs.
Agree, disagree?
