I'm new. I've played probly 15 games online and I'm not bad. However, I still find it very boring. You know why? Because everyone I've played uses the exact same strategy, with little variation. Rush, rush, rush. Everyone rushes, and everyone rushes the same way, varied only by civilation being played. I'll admit, I used this strategy too. Frankly, because it's the only way I know to counter it. This game is an RTS genre, correct? Where's the strategy anyway? It's not a matter of skill or tactics. It's how fast you can click your mouse and hotkeys. Basically, the fastest guy wins. Where's the fun in a 10-20min game. The game, or at least its predecessors, were based on empires and empire building. Empires did not rise and fall in twenty mintutes.
Does anyone else feel this way?

Look I'll put it this way. If you are unwilling to adapt to a game then just quit and player another game that suits you better. Ensemble studios won't change their game for a few people, in fact they won't even fix underpowered civs because they're busy working on a new way to make fast money off of peeps.
